I'm satisfied with the Mediasonic 180. It picks up all the OTA channels in my area.

FWIW, in my limited experience, the 180 picked up less channels than the 150, which picked up less channels than our OTA tuner. All these had the exact same antenna placement and signal.

It may be different elsewhere, but just an FYI.

I'm probably checking out the 150 for one tv, and getting the MS tuner at some point for the other one. I doubt I'd want to buy a new USB 3 HD for both systems, and it'd get me going now slowly.

The DVR will be really cool though!

FYI: For OTA I was getting very few channels with indoor antenna. I got a new roof antenna and now it picks up over 60 channels.

I'm 12 miles away from a tower with everything so trying a cheap indoor one and may do a outdoor one if needed. Trying to limit cost now, but over time can improve. Worst case this 7 buck one goes in the guest room

I'm about 30 miles east of NYC. I'm getting NYC, NJ, LI and CT stations. Did not completely cut cable, but using 3 less cable boxes now will pay for antenna in 18 months.

Makes more sense to get the TV Tuners at a little more and save up for an external hard drive. I'd have to buy the hard drives with the other option anyways, so rather have it all baked into one box.

Dual tuners would be nice, but wishful thinking lol.

I see you can stream to various devices (smartglass, windows 10), could I stream to another Xbox One or no? Just wondering...I'd probably end up with a HD on both, but if I recorded downstairs and wanted to watch upstairs would be a cool option.

Is that true? Didn't get a chance to see the gamescon announcement.

So one can only either record channel "X" or watch "X," but not simultaneously record channel "X" and watch channel "Z"?

Even though I already have a DVR recording device (hauppauge 1229 x 3 installed on my computer for a total of 6 tuners, allowing me to record 6 shows simultaneously), XB1 having a DVR functionality certainly caught my attention. My experience with DVR recording in HD is 6-12gb gets taken up by each program recorded, with sports jumping up to around 20gb or so.

EDIT: Did a little online research and apparently, yes, the XB1 will only have 1 tuner available. Unfortunately, this wasn't what I was hoping. Doesn't really help when one has an interest in programs shown on FOX, CBS, and ABC simultaneously at 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm primetime.

Would have been nice for Microsoft to sell an expandable add-on insertable dual tuner device, and up to a minimum of 4 - 6 tuners.

Yeah, I didn't hear anything about dual tuners, but it would be great.....

Just got my HW-150 and in our bedroom testing I got all the channels (almost 70) I expected from the various antenna websites. Local channels come in crystal clear, it's awesome. This is with a $6.95 antenna (25 miles, I'm 12 away from the mountain they broadcast on).

Haven't hooked it up to the Xbox yet, and not sure when I will, but hopefully that'll work fine too! My other one will probably get a TV Tuner sometime.

Most are kinda garbage, but I was impressed with what came in...we'll only watch the local stuff, but it was pretty cool. That'll take a big sting away from cutting cable. Combine with various streaming options we should get what we need.

Question guys, I finally got around to deciding hooking my xbox up to my cable box and I love it so far. I just need to know do you guys always keep the instant on???? if so how much power does it use and do you ever get nervous that's its always running??? I mean I'm sure that's the way the system was built for .

I like to have a piece of mind knowing its always on so my games can update without me having to do it always and system updated can update without me having to do it now every time I turn it on, especially knowing im in the preview program.

The majority of Xbox users keep their console in Instant On mode, and like you said, it was in fact designed for it. It does use a bit more power, I think it's 15W (it says in setup when you choose the option).

THX!!! I'm at work today and final have the system in instant mode I just get nervous. I have also owned the Xbox One since it came out. and man Iit seems like I have been a lot, the Instant on and TV connect to the One is great.'

Plus since IM 100% digital I think it makes so much more sense for me I just get nervous. Its all in my head.

And boy are the snap options a thing of GREATNESS, I know its pretty silly I never used this setup up until last night lol. I have been selling my sell so short.

So SB is the 15W a big deal in the coned?
