Re: Is Last Gen Your Last Console?
No, I have a PS4.
I just wish this generation was more like the last gen, quantity-wise and variety-wise. On last gen there were so many games released (many good ones) and pretty often, and this gen it's like a game every now and then, or so it seems.
I wasn't planning on buying a PS4 for another year, but my wife surprised me during the holidays and bought me one. I know I still have PS3 games to play, but I just can't resist some new games. Even if I didn't have a PS4, I would just sit for a while and watch youtube videos of games. I enjoy it almost as much as I enjoy playing.Last edited by youvalss; 05-24-2015, 10:58 PM.My Specs:

Re: Is Last Gen Your Last Console?
The PS4 will be my last console, I'm on PC far more and has long been my go to gaming machine. I've sank very little hours into the PS4 compared to the PC so it makes no sense to get another console. I'll be selling the PS4 in a year or so most likely too.Comment

Re: Is Last Gen Your Last Console?
My 360 won't be my last console....however I am still playing it and don't have any immediate plans to upgrade.
Like the OP, I am in my mid 40's and go back to Atari and Mattell handheld games before that. For me, video game enjoyment has always come from being able to get away from the real world and breifly live in a single player VG universe.
So in recent years I have definitely lost some enthusiasm as the industry has focused more and more on the online component. I have even less interest in Ultimate Team which understandably the industry is now pushing...but for this old Dinosaur, it is pretty underwhelming when a new game is being promoted, and the majority of the promotion is UT related.Comment

Re: Is Last Gen Your Last Console?
The PS4 will probably be my last console. I'm enjoying my free time now as I know it will be eaten up when I start running the resort and I also want to start a family in the next couple years too. So I'm thinking I won't get another one unless my kid wants one.Comment

Re: Is Last Gen Your Last Console?
My ps4 most likely will not be my last console. I've been getting interested in pc gaming lately, but only have a MacBook Pro. I have no clue about pc specs and all that, so I'm weary of trying to build my own and start more pc gaming.
Either way though, if I still have interest in sports games when the next consoles come out, I'll be getting another one

Re: Is Last Gen Your Last Console?
The next next gen will come out and I'll be in my 40s.
As a gamer since Atari 2600, I'll continue to evolve and if the price is right, yep, I'll get in on the fun.
I think it'll be even more digital than it is now and we may not even need a "console" anymore.Comment

Re: Is Last Gen Your Last Console?
Until we get to a much better infrastructure as far as high speed Internet I think consoles will be here. I just don't see the high speed reaching the masses any time soon and then there's the caps some providers have. ... ...and we'll need the disks.Joshua:

Whatever the next wave of consoles ends up being, whether it is a PS5 or a "Steam Machine," that will probably be my last hurrah. I figure I got about 10 more years of this fun stuff."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Re: Is Last Gen Your Last Console?
I'm 22 years old and I've always had a console since I was 5, from the PS1-PS2-Xbox360(turned on sony for Halo 3 lol)-PS3 and now PS4. I've got friends of friends on the ps4 who I've been in chat parties with and I've noticed they're like 5-10 years older than me. Seeing them keep playing these systems faithfully after coming home from work or on a day off just makes me think about my situation, I might be gaming until I die damn near. That's just me lol. It's like when I'm at home and not out doing something I'm on my system more than anything else. Coming home from work, relaxing on your system sounds good. Might be bad parenting though lmao cause I do notice they talk to their children in the background. Who knows all I'm saying is with whatever new generation consoles come for the least I'm with The JareBear, I'll say 10 years for now.
But it depends on your mindset or you yourself. If you're a gamer or consider yourself a gamer, it's hard to break that habit/label. It's just like these body builders or fitness freaks, look at the old heads they still put in work at the gym. Look at Arnold Schwarzenegger he still puts in work at age 67 and is still swole as ever. CT Fletcher is old he still puts in work as a body builder/trainer/inspiration with how he tries to guide people even though it's funny as hell sometimes cause he cusses so much.Comment
