Re: Is Last Gen Your Last Console?

If MS could get 3rd party support for their Play Anywhere ecosystem (which is already more than MS published titles as some of the participating indies aren't) I could see never buying another console outside of that ecosystem again - or even as a hobbyist just building PCs rather than picking up new consoles in the future.

With as little console gaming I've been doing, Madden/EA joining that program might be enough to make it happen.

Re: Is Last Gen Your Last Console?

I dont get the issue with new consoles coming and ps4 is so far superior to the ps3 is not even funny

I am the type that like progression and the better the graphics and games and features get the better for all

What is so stressful about PS4?

I wouldn't say "stressful" as much as "annoying". I find it annoying that I can't keep more than a few AAA titles around without upgrading my hard drive, that many of the titles being released seem to be either remasters or "My First Indie Game™", that sub-par frame rates are still a thing, that somehow -- incredibly -- the PS4 UI still isn't as friendly and intuitive as the system that came before it. None of these things are deal breakers, but you know, it's just not the same as it used to be. For me anyway.

Maybe I'm just getting too damn old, but if I wasn't such a sports game addict I'd probably drop gaming altogether. FIFA and The Show are what's keeping me in it. Well, that and the occasional replay of Deadly Premonition...

remasters always happen on all gens. To me Bloodborne and Witcher 3 were superior to anything on ps3 including last of us which is better on ps4 by the way

The UI on ps3 and controller were complete garbage. Their multi plats were inferior to xbox

This gen ps4 did it right and not only is online great for shooters but it has not had issues as on ps3 and the games to me have been superior

Also ps3 lasted almost a decade. This ps4 is not even 3 years old and already produced superior games then ps3 ever did IMO

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. The exclusive lineup for the PS4 has nothing on Uncharted, Infamous, God of War 3, or the Ratchet and Clank Future Series.

Uncharted 4 is to me the best in series and on ps4 and the uncharted series is all on ps4 remastered and better on ps4

GOD of War not out yet but you seen what is coming and that looks 100x better then any of the ps3 series and there is the prev version that is out on PS4

Ratchet and Clank is on ps4 and much better version for just 40

Infamous is not my thing but there is a great looking one on ps4

PS3 never had BloodBorne and Witcher 3 and I mean in terms of how awesome it was and looked.

PS3 was a great console for the few exclusives but the few so far on PS4 have been fantastic and now they have the better multi plats which makes it a superior console as shown by the sales that it continues to enjoy

I'm with you on the controller. And while the PS3 UI isn't the greatest, it's still loads better than PS4. Sorry, but I'm not a fan of my game catalog being docked to a long horizontal bar. I understand why they did it, but I personally don't need to see who else is playing a game, or how many thumbs up it's getting, or what DLC is available, or who's streaming what, or where to find the manual. 99.9% of the time I just want to play.

At the very least, the PS3 UI gave you the option of creating custom game folders in a vertical submenu, making it easy for guys like me with large collections (over 200 PS3 titles) to get organized. Bring that feature back please.

over 200 games on one system? WOW. I think between all my systems I have around 300 and I think the most I have on any system is like 40-50.

Funny. The only thing I miss from PS3 is the XMB.

IMO it was simple, snappy, and intuitive. Until Sony allows folders on the PS4 UI, the old XMB will continue to be my favorite means of console navigation of all time.

To be fair, a lot of those are PS Plus freebies that I never played. But I also enjoy collecting PS1 and PS2 games on my PS3.

I have a lot more games on Xbox 360, over 300 easily. I was a huge fan of XBLIGs, there were some very creative and original games there.

I'm not saying PS4 doesn't have some great games, but I don't think its library compares to the PS3's right now.

There's a bunch of great looking games on the horizon (no pun intended) so the future looks bright.

There is not one game on ps3 that is better then what we have had in such a short time from PS4

                              At least to me

And I do not count remaster better versions that are on PS4

To an extent, this would not be a lie.

The PS4 has sequels/reboots to amazing games (UC4, R&C, etc.), great new games in Driveclub, Until Dawn, and Bloodborne, etc.. Has the very best looking and performing version in MLB The Show (and all the other sports games), about to get Gran Turismo and The Last Guardian... and has some of the PS3's best games in 'Remasters' (TLoU, GTAV, Uncharted 1-3, GoW3, etc.) that perform and look better.

I would think it is pretty much a wash. And that is not including the digital games like Rocket League and the like.

I have been wanting to turn on my PS3 to catch up on a few games (GoW: Ascension, etc.), but have not had the time nor desire to, due to this.
