You mean like Recore, Gears of War, Sea of Thieves, etc. that were shown last year, and did not have a release date at all?

You act like those games had new announcements, along with a date, lol. This was not the first E3 they showed them, so finally they have a date for them. Just as The Last Guardian, Horizon, and a couple of others were dated as well. Hell, where is this Crackdown that was hyped for 2 years at both E3's, Fable Leg... nvm, or Phantom Du... oh there is another one...

They both do this, lol.

They had windows though of when to expect them. Recore was slated for spring of 16 got pushed back a few months. Gears was holiday of 16 with a beta in spring of 16 both of those look to remain correct. Sea of thieves didn't if I remember correctly which is annoying.

Fable got canceled but had a beta running the year it was announced. Crackdown wasn't at this E3 and was delayed to 2017 and phantom dust was canceled and now back on for 2017.

Windows are good to they give an estimate when they will hit. Yes games get delayed it happens but being completely blind and have no idea isn't good either. For all you know those games are on for 2018 or later.

What's the point of the E3 event if you are just going to show the same **** we've seen a bunch because it's coming out in a few months?

You build this ostentatious stage, you set aside this big event, give me a reason to watch. Show me new, show me something different, blow my mind. If I wanted to just see more of a game that's coming out in 4 months I'll just go to youtube, I'll watch some video from the floor, etc.

Which conference had a bunch of retread video? Because aside from Battlefield 1 all I saw was new stuff from MS and Sony. Think we're digging so far in to defend one presser or another the arguments are getting a bit too abstract. Time to just move on, clearly nobody is convincing anyone of anything different.

Have to give credit where it's due...Microsoft has been far better with hitting their release dates than Sony has. Except for the launch titles, every exclusive for PS4 has been delayed at least once.

On the flip side, I think that Sony has been delaying the "holiday" games not just because they may need extra few months of development time but also to stay away from the crowded "holiday" space which when you think about it is a smart move.

Both have their positives and negatives. I will say this though...the exclusives on PS4 interest me a lot more than the exclusives on Xbox One which I think also plays into me not being happy about the games not having a release window/date. For games that im not interested in, I don't care when they get released so I think that definitely plays into it as well.

Probably needs a thread soon all to itself but some VR games are coming in from E3 and one in particular, Robinson: The Journey Home - looks graphically incredible. Some of the best I've seen.

I'm not getting this fascination with knowing release dates/windows of these new games they debuted this week. I would think within 2 years they'll be released. Outside of that its nice to catch a glimpse of what the future holds. Not to mention those dates are usually just placeholders anyway as games get pushed back all the time.

We would all think within 2 years they'd be released, but we've all seen that not happen before. We've also seen companies bring out games to show that were completely unrepresentative of the game in its final state (Watch Dogs/Killlzone 2). A release date is more than likely at least an indication that there's a game lol, it seems like these companies just show up to trade shows with cinematic concepts for games 4 years down the road lol. Part is disappointment in knowing the game wont be out for a while and a part is the frustration that these companies do things to pacify us, "here's a FFVII remake, it might be out 4 years from now, we're probably working on it". That's the worst part to me. I just think if the game isn't something I can play within a year, I probably don't need to see it....because now I'll be scouring every bit of online news for Spider-Man details or praying that God of War shows up at PSX. Im not sure why some make it seem so life and death, it's not big deal to me, but that's the way I see it.
