Re: Xbox One S Arrives in Early August, Project Scorpio Scheduled For Holiday 2017
I agree with Dickdalewood on this one. The cheaper one is the one that will ultimately sell the most. People with hard drives will gravitate more towards the 500gb model and so will the majority of consumers. Most consumers just look for the cheaper model that's the new xbox Johny wants and plays games.Yea I agree with most of what you said but the 300 version only has 500gb because that one is targeted to those that mostly use drives. Why spend 400 on 2tb when I can spend 300 and get a 4tb hard drive for 95 to 105 dollars
MS knows that those who rock externals will love the 500gb because is the cheapest...The 400 is a limited time offer because they are trying to gain on the desperate to have it right away buyers
1tb is happy medium with Madden thrown inNBA2K is the standard of sports games period.Comment

I never said it will not sell the most. As a matter of fact i said that would be the preferred model because many use externals and rather save the money with the 500gbI agree with Dickdalewood on this one. If you are going to have just about 300 gbs or less available that will not cut it for most and externals will come into play which can cause much less then the 100 difference and for more gbs overall.
The 2tb is for those early adopters and people who want no externals...
500gb was aimed to get sales and it will sell most because most users fix the lack of space with cheap externals that just plug in. Bingo for choosing the cheaper version...Is the smart playComment

Re: Xbox One S Arrives in Early August, Project Scorpio Scheduled For Holiday 2017
You're just too stuck on the externals. People buy the cheaper option because it's cheap, then manage the space as is. Again, I have three systems at home, all 500 gb... NONE of them use an external hard drive. I know at least 10 people at work, PS4 and Xbox One owners, all 500 gb systems, NONE of them utilizing an external hard drive. Casual consumers don't buy the cheapest option with the thought process of increasing space with external hard drives. That is a hard core gamer / tech savvy consumer thought process.
You speak to the average person (the bulk of the demographic that buys these systems) and they will not even know that an external hard drive is an option, nor will they run into many issues with space (the responses from my young employees at work is typically "wait, what? How would I use an external hard drive?"). If space gets tight, they'll simply delete something from their Xbox and move on.
You're judgment is too clouded with knowledge, which the everyday buyer does not have. The 500 gb is not marketed towards "the crowd that uses externals". You're overthinking it. It's marketed towards "the crowd that doesn't want to spend $400"... I.E. penny pinchers, slightly lower income households, uneducated parents, people that don't care about the additional space, etc. Sure, the external hard drive crowd can be included in that group, but they aren't the target (nor majority) audience.Last edited by DickDalewood; 08-08-2016, 12:31 PM.Comment

Penny pinchers? Your young friends at work? Yea if you looking to spend less then there is a 250 option with games for those penny pinchers and young friends of yours
If this was the original release of the xb1 then I can agree with you but you are the one with the clouded mind thinking that because you and your young friends do this that this is the norm for the S
No the S is for the hardcore gamer and those with 4K tvs
Why would someone who is looking to save money and not worry about space want to spend 300 when you can spend much less with tons of games thrown in for less?
MS knows the S is for the hardcore and 4K fans and owners of those sets
If they targeted the S for all then it would be the dumbest move of all to announce it the same day they announced a better version ScorpioComment

Re: Xbox One S Arrives in Early August, Project Scorpio Scheduled For Holiday 2017
it will be for the last 5 to 6 months before scorpio hits and at that point the console will take a nose dive in sales with the anticipation heating up for the scorpio
The 2TB Slim is being discontinued soon as it was sold out in Europe already and MS has said no more stock of that version unless is the GOW version
The 500gb will be the one sold for the long year ahead as the Madden bundle will also be in short deman
But OG xb1 will still be around for the 5 months or more at deep price cutComment

Re: Xbox One S Arrives in Early August, Project Scorpio Scheduled For Holiday 2017
the last 2 years I believe the higher end Samsungs and some mid tier brands had the hdmi inputs on a separate box called one connect that had a chord that connect to the tv and that was it. The box house all hdmi connects and ethernet along with cable and USB
that connect box is the brain of the tv and each year Samsung releases a new model that is able to replace the default one and improve different functions of the tv
it can cost about 400 dollars thoughComment

The original One is being phased out. The S is the new option for the core. The Scorpio will be the high end.
No matter the product though, there are always options within that line for those who don't want to spend as much as others. But listen, if you want to continue to believe that MS has created a console that will soon be released at a price point that the majority will buy, but has targeted it for an extremely specific and small market, you go right ahead. LolComment

I will because MS releasing an S with only 1 year head start to a superior model is done to bridge gap and not allow the low sales compared to ps4 be such a hindrance going forward. If they did not release the S and just announced the Scorpio then the sales will fall even more on the default xbox one
The S is mainly to bridge the gap. If you think the S will have more sales in 2 years over Scorpio you are delusional.
Just because you do not use Externals and your co workers have no clue what it is does not mean the xb1 owners are going to buy the 300 version and deal with about 275gb of space...That is like 4 to 5 games.
Those suppose penny pinchers more then likely have no 4K tv and they have a better option which is the OG xbox one which is not going to just dissapear in the next few months. If Scorpio was 2 years out then fine. But 1 year...Yea S is not going to beat the OG xbox one and Scorpio will outsell the S..If you do not think that will be the case then so be it...Comment

Looking forward to getting the Slim on August 23rd. Going with the 500GB model. Obviously, it's a good price and 500GB is plenty of space for me. Also, love the internal power supply. Hated the damn power brick.Comment
