Phasmophobia’ Decks the Halls With New ‘Winter’s Jest’ Update

The 'Phasmophobia' Winter's Jest event is right around the corner, so beware of any "click, click, clicks" - I promise it ain't Saint Nick.

Starting on December 12, 2024, at midnight UTC, Phasmophobia fans should begin preparing for a winter wonderland. Just like the Halloween event that recently ended, fans can look forward to plenty of community goals to unlock new items and rewards.

There are a total of four maps undergoing a complete holiday overhaul, complete with wreaths, garlands, and even a few presents scattered around the map. Players will also need to keep their eyes peeled for Jack-In-The-Boxes spread throughout these maps, especially if they want to help with the community goals to unlock new rewards.

You won’t have forever to unlock these rewards, though. The Phasmophobia Winter’s Jest event will come to a close on December 31, 2024, at 11:59PM UTC. With just a little over two weeks to peruse these halls as often as we can, we’ll need to hurry down the chimney if we want everything.

Lol....Just wondering has anyone been able to play SubSide sitting down? For me, there's no way. If I'm scuba diving sitting, it's VR sickness - bad. So, I need to stand up and move about. Only problem is the Christmas Tree and Christmas Village are now in the vicinity!!!!!!!!!

        Visually, it's stunning!

The sickness got me a little bit while standing up too. It really does look incredible, plus I could swear I was able to push off the floor with my hands to propel myself upward.

I'm still trying to dial in the headset settings in limited playtime so getting motion sick is not really limited to that game - GT7 hit me BAD when I first tried it.

Interesting. I can spend hours on GT7 without even an issue.

I was okay to play it for a while after the first time. I think the disconnect between "turning the wheel" with the dualsense gyro and not feeling any weight shift just messed with my brain a bit. Plus I had played NMS for over an hour right before it so maybe I was just at my limit for that very first VR experience the day I got it.

                  Re: PS VR

I'm definitely getting Subside after playing the demo. Along with any well-known franchises I'm into that get new versions or ports to it, I'm also looking for unique experiences with VR. This is very much one of those.

Question for anyone familiar with getting this thing to work on PC - I don't have the adapter yet (it's ordered, along with a displayport cable), but if my controllers successfully pair to my PC by themselves, is that a sign that I won't need a separate Bluetooth dongle once I actually try to set it up?

Same here. It releases Dec 20th

Not set up but going to put my IT hat on and say that if your pc supports Bluetooth it should work, but I'd still get a separate dongle due to how funky Sony products can be, and you're more likely to get latency issues at times.

If you're looking into AAA games check out the Resident Evil VR support games. Horizon is also an awe-aspiring experience. You already have No Man's Sky & GT7

If you enjoy shooters let me know if you're wondering what gunstocks out there I think is excellent for the PSVR2.

                      Re: PS VR

Anyone else get the PSVR2 trifecta or, 5-pack if you add Metro and Phasmophobia.

Seems I got thru the Subside quizzes while playing sitting. Starting to feel more natural the last time. Found myself on the floor while I was scavenging on the sea floor It's time to start leaving the training area!

Tried BEHMOUTH for a few minutes and had to stop but this game excites me. I'll need to play standing up for sure making lateral movements but the Christmas Tree and village is still up! This is a gaming experience I'm looking forward too!

Same goes for the Alien game. I'll be standing up. I've heard that there bugs, and unnecessary repetitions that takes the game down a bit. Survivos is patching fixes and improvements, so this is a thriller that I will come back to later and play. It does raise the question again, 'why should I buy on release when you can get later at a discount with all the completed fixes?'

So many games, so little time
