    Re: PS VR

I'm still interested in keeping my preorder but would like to know how good or bad the screen resolution is in cinematic mode for films & PS4 games.
If it is real bad I may just invest in a new 4K TV.....

I think it will depend on the developer. I thought Valkyrie looked best of the 3 games I played. I also think the PS Pro will enhance it even more for devs to play with.

Does anyone know any info about the VR running on PS Pro? Some were saying that the Pro would/could offer a better experience. I'm also on the fence after some less than stellar reviews.

I have the PRO and VR preordered, and after getting a One S and a new 4K TV....I'm heading toward brokeville.

From my understanding the devs would have to use the I guess extra power to make the PSVR better. It's not automatic.

It wouldn't fix any of the occlusion issues Giantbomb seemed to be having.

Just watched a review from DigitalFoundry were he says he played the VR on both consoles, and the Pro had a better resolution... not by much. I wouldn't say it will provide an overall better experience though.

Sony's in the middle right now. Cheaper than the other options that require the higher end PC, but not really delivering the performance either. They do have some better games (yet short? i've read that a few spots), but a lot of bugs/wonky feels.

Just wonder if it's cheap enough to really hook people...since cheap VR is still kinda expensive, people who can afford this can probably look into one of the other two instead, right?

It won't really matter either way since it's going the way of the dodo in the long run for gaming.

                    Re: PS VR

I think it will depend on how many units the PS VR units sell. If you're a developer and the current market is 400,000 rifts and around 40,000 units for the vive with a possible 6-9 million units of the PS VR. Which market will you look into?

LOL...Well then I guess VR will just pass you by.

You're absolutely delusional if you think the PSVR will sell anywhere near 6-9 million units in a year.

As for it passing me by? That's fine.

I've tried it. It's cool. I'd never want to sit and play a game with a headset on for any given amount of time.

It's supposed to sell 2-3 million by the end of the year.

I was always under the impression that the Pro would be pretty vital to get the most out of PSVR. At the PRO conference the mentioned that Farscape on PRO had "double" the amount of something going on graphically, I need to rewatch it , I don't remember the exact detail.

I have said this before but I just think time will tell. Pro and VR both may end up much better in the end than they appear at launch.

I always knew it wouldn't have the resolution of the PC headsets but the reports of tracking issues is concerning.

This was said before in this thread but I do feel like it is pretty clear that VR will never be the "new normal." No matter how successful it is (and I do think PSVR will succceed) it will never fully replace controller/tv console gaming.

                              Never said definite, just possible.

I can respect that. VR is not for everyone. For me personally, I rather invest in a VR headset instead of say a 4k HDR TV set. Don't get me wrong. I'm all for it's availability in the market but, when given the choices of sitting 3 feet from your tv to notice a difference that the naked eye can't tell from a distance, I rather invest in this new technology. Also, for immersion purposes, I find it more immersive for my gaming interests than say what HDR additional color hues offers.

The only thing I've heard is during the week of October 19-23 in Frankfurt, The Arts has a Virtual Reality hands on experience of cinematic vr offered to the public. I'm sure there will reviews that will come out from this conference. Since VR is in its infancy state, much is still new or unknown.

I just had twins, so I'm poor right now lol.

That being said, the VR may be fun for one person, but it's not really regularly useful or even being used....

I doubt my wife would really ever want to use VR a ton.

Plus it's kinda anti-social. If people are over I can't imagine sitting there with that on my head.

Though maybe the world will just adapt and become like Ready Player One where we all have VR suits.

A HDR 4k TV would be used everyday at my house for hours....That's a much easier sell to the boss lol
