I learned this today. I don't know if it is common knowledge or not but you can play non PSVR games on the PSVR. You should be able to watch PS Vue with it to.

That can be fun as long as games have no text.

Also I believe you can watch movies etc.. (If it's like some of the apps for Oculus some look like you're sitting in a theater)

Has anyone demoed the PSVR I'm interested to know what the resolution & screen quality was like using it for both VR software & also cinematic mode.

IMO resolution for games like Eve are a problem, things get muddy (each eye is 960x1080 I believe). Experiences tailored for the headset will be really nice though. I have a Vive, and need to try supersampling to see if it mitigates similar complaints I have with it.

I don't think you can demo it for anything but the games at kiosks, which are all VR, no cinema mode.

                EVE: Valkyrie’ Gets Cross-Play, Co-Op

Before the PS VR edition release on October 13th, though, there’s a big update in store for October 10th. Headlining this free patch is cross-platform support. This means that, when you get Valkyrie on PS4, you’ll be able to take on PC players inside their Oculus Rifts. Later on in the year you should also be able to face HTC Vive players.

Another big addition is a new co-op mode in which you can invite friends to fight off waves of AI enemies. Doing so will still earn you XP, allowing you to level up without having to go online. CCP has also added two new single player missions that reveal more of the game’s backstory and let them take on AI opponents by themselves.

17 days to go until the launch of PlayStation VR! We’re counting down to the release of Sony’s VR headset on October 13th by highlighting one game a day for its anticipated release. Today we’re looking at what’s new for one of the headset’s biggest

Best Buy is holding midnight openings at 350 stores for the PlayStation VR

Sony's PlayStation VR is going on sale October 13th, and for fans who need to start playing on launch day, Best Buy might be your best bet. Some 350 Best Buy stores will be holding a midnight launch on the 13th, opening their doors at 12:01AM ET. Thanks to the wonders of time zones, that means some customers will even be able to get the PlayStation VR on October 12th — starting at 9:01PM on the West Coast, 10:01PM Mountain time, and 11:01PM Central. You can find your nearest Best Buy store here.

This might be a thread to keep an eye on if you have a nice TV w/ HDR support. Might need to rearrange cables whenever you use PSVR or maybe buy a HDMI splitter if you intend to always have your PSVR hooked up, because it can't pass through HDR.

The amount of cables is laughable. I have enjoyed PSVR when I've tried it out but my OCD would go haywire there. I just can't.

Still not 100% certain if I'm going to get the VR but what are the chances of getting one without a preorder at launch? Not a big deal if I can't get one at launch. Just curious. I may ask the Gamestop I frequent to give me a call if someone cancels their order.

Best bet is to arrive at a retail store at launch. Since they blew out in minutes, the retail stores may get similar blow outs at launch. Sony is believed to be shipping out 6 million units this year and have already said there will be limited supplies based from the earlier demands.

By comparison, Oculus and HTC are aiming to ship 2.3 million and 700,000 Rift and Vive units respectively during the same period.

According to a latest report, Sony is planning to ship up to 6 million PlayStation VR units in 2016. Oculus and HTC will ship half of that.

I don't expect inventory to be scarce with all the balking from friends and on other forums. After the initial rush I think they'll be easy to find once speculation dies down.
