Also Interesting. Says it supports the PS navigation controllers. Wondering which of the two (Move Controllers) would work better with the sprint and serve game play. Navigation Controllers are also decently priced.

Announced yesterday from the China Hero Project with SIE. Kill X, Project Boundary and Pervader are the VR games. Game trailers start at the 2:00 mark.

Today, during PlayStation China’s press conference in Shanghai, Sony Interactive Entertainment presented many new trailers for the PS4 and PlayStation VR games part of the China Hero Project.

The long showcase included Kill X, Project Boundary, Pervader, Hardcore Mecha (which was previously titled Code Hardcore), and Lost Soul Aside.

Kil X will come to PS4 in Winter 2018, Project Boundary is slated for 2019, Pervader and Hardcore Mecha are simply “coming soon,” while Lost Soul Aside did not have any indication of a release window.

Recent research on the PS5 got me looking for any PS VR rumors that maybe new. Techradar printed out a recent article with some such rumors.

The upgraded AMD Ryzen chip that Sony is currently researching could certainly achieve the processing power necessary to support these displays. Sony, which uses JDI’s screens for its smartphones, will very likely rely on these upgraded displays for its new headset. Considering we already found the PSVR 1’s design comfortable for long playing periods, this could make its heir apparent even more enjoyable to use.

Japan Display (JDI), a LCD manufacturer co-run by Sony, recently unveiled its 3.2-inch, 1,001 pixels-per-inch (ppi) displays with 2160 x 2432 resolution. PSVR currently uses 386 ppi and 1920 x 1080 resolution for its one 5.7-inch screen.



While the PS4 Pro certainly packs a punch, it may not have the capacity to support VR with the higher resolution and pixel density that Sony’s new JDI displays enable. The PSVR 2 could demand processing power that last-gen consoles simply can’t match. Recent rumors suggest that the PlayStation 5 will use the newest AMD Ryzen CPU and updated Radeon graphics, an upgrade from the AMD Jaguar CPU of the PS4 and Pro. Sony could have trouble making its new headset compatible with two separate graphics systems.

We do suspect that the PSVR 2 could go wireless, something that HTC has achieved with a new adapter peripheral.

Considering Sony prioritized cutting down the size and weight of the cord that connects the headset to the console in its latest PSVR 1 upgrade, it’s clear the company sees it as disruptive, even annoying. Removing it entirely is the logical next step. By doing so, Sony will also make it easier to support room tracking for PSVR 2. Oculus and HTC have supported 6DoF tracking for experiences for a couple of years now, and it’s one of the primary areas in which PSVR falls short of its competition.

We also suspect that Sony has plans to double down on Move controllers. Its recent patent shows that it wants to compete with the Oculus Touch and Vive controller by adding improved tracking functionality to its Move wands.

Sony patented a plan for backwards compatibility that would make PS4 games playable on the PS5, which would put them on level with Microsoft’s successful backwards compatibility program for the Xbox One. We suspect that Sony will find a way to make its first-gen VR experiences available on the second-gen device, so that new buyers will have a huge library of games to choose from straight out of the gate.

Had the chance to play 2 games this weekend. End Space and Archangel are both currently on sale. Some thoughts.

<b><u>End Space</b></u>
Bought this awhile back on sale but shelved it because of bugs. Now, with the recent patch gave it another spin. End Space is a straight arcade space shooter. While the other alternative is Eve: Valkyrie which is a multi-player base game with better controls and visuals, this is an alternative for those who wish for single player gaming. You'll get a dozen missions with player-story missions. The campaign is about 3-hours long. End Space is currently on sale for $10 (half price) and with an extra 10% saving with PS+. For $9, and you're itching for some space dog fight action, with now HOTAS support, (if you have one) is recommended.

<b><u>Archangel</b></u>
Currently on sale at half price for $15, Archangel is an on-rails shooter, single-player game with a story that's about a 4-5 hours campaign. It has multiple difficulty levels to choose from and gives you points to use to upgrade your mech once you complete missions. The graphics are decent but the sense of being in a giant mech is amazing which I enjoyed more than RIGS. You can use the DS4, or motion controllers which I highly suggest using if you have them. You can't control free movement of your mech which moves once you clear your path, but the motion controls work perfect when moving either your left or right arms and hands for combat and defense. I wouldn't recommend it for $30, but at $15 with an extra 10% saving if you're a PS+ member, I highly recommend it.
