Reading mixed reviews on Transference. Will wait it out since I wasn't impressed with the free demo story.

If we don't hear any news on Dreams during the Tokyo Gaming Show, then I don't know when we'll ever hear about it for this year release. Somethings gotta give.

Good news regarding Creed about PvP. Comes out next week.

One thing about horror in VR. It's terrifying and made for each other. There's supposedly a Thai game that is coming out Oct 9th, 'Home Sweet Home'......and this, looks terrifying. Think it may have been announced during TGS start.

Well, the controversy grows stronger with the latest VR release information for Ace Combat 7 coming in from the TGS. We get 3 VR missions now, Free Flight, an Air Show, and Integrated pilot experience. The information can be further studied here. https://ace7.acecombat.jp/vr/

A band of people are setting up to protest BN. I then watch the latest vr gameplay from the TGS and realize they have me by the #A##S. This looks amazing............

Once you’re in the cockpit you can lock onto enemies simply by looking at them on your head mounted display,

Four planes are available in VR, the F/A-18 Hornet, the F-22 Raptor, and the Su-30 Flanker, plus one that has not been revealed yet.

A VR Air Show feature lets you watch an air show directly from the deck of your carrier.

Gonna give basic important stuff from this Interview. Keep in mind I’m leaving out the Air Show Mode because that isn’t very interesting.

Story

The VR portion of the game will take place in Strangereal Universe just like the main campaign for Ace Combat 7 and the other numerical installments.

VR portion of the game will be set in 2014 which is eight years after Operation Katina which is the Arcade mode for Ace Combat 5 and eight years before Lighthouse War (Ace Combat 7). There won't be a direct connection between these two because they don't want people who don't have PSVR to miss out from important story elements.

They confirmed that you play as Mobius 1 who was the protagonist in Ace Combat 4 and Ace Combat 5's Arcade Mode. Just like in Ace Combat 5's Arcade Mode (Operation Katina) you will fight the faction 'Free Erusea' who you defeated in Operation Katina.
Gameplay

Unlike playing the game flat, players have to use the UI differently. For one, automated target lock is not based on where the plane direction is towards the enemy. It depends on where the players headset/view is at. If you want to lock on an enemy manually you must look at the target with from your center view using your PSVR headset and click triangle.
The Interviewer mentioned that he played the Demo version back during PSX 2016. He said when he played the demo there was a holographic interface which you can see here. The radar and weapon selection were hovered about the cockpit control panels. The interface used during PSX 2016 was not a solidified concept. They removed it and made the radar and weapon selections firmly on the multifunction control panels. It allows the player to have a "real pilot experience" but also making sure the interface was easy for the players.

The Interviewer asked a question if camera lock will be be in VR. They said no because if you hold the lock on button and have the camera lock on to the moving target, it will interfere with the PSVR headset tracking system.

They wanted to add a game mechanic that allows the player to eject. But it caused to much dizziness so they scraped it.

Now here is the important piece for those on why VR got little content compared to the main game

They don’t want to compromise the main game. Their first priority was the main game because that is where the majority player base is. They want to give an Ace Combat game that people asked for but added VR that can be a new branch for the series that will sprout.

They want to present the consumers that the future possibilities for Ace combat VR will be like the experience you have with Ace Combat 7 VR mode.

In the end they joked about Jun Tamaoki, who produced Summer Lesson and is working with Project Aces, wanting to put girls in the hangers or even on in the back seat cockpit. This joke led to a misunderstanding that Summer Lesson was a beta secretly used for developing Ace Combat 7 VR.

New game, Arca's Path announced for Dec 6 that has a different game style play worth mentioning. The game will be played based off of the movements of your head.

Unfortunately you're correct. I get the feeling from that interview they're leaving out lots of goodies for later DLC's.


While Dreams is being shown off at EGX and TGS at the same time, I did find an earlier interview by PushSquare at PAX where MediaMolecule insists on a 2018 Beta release.

PushSquare has also recently posted a "hands on" with the game at the TGS and not surprisingly are glowingly giddy about it.
