Pixel Ripped 1995 will launch on April 23rd on Oculus Quest, Oculus Rift, Viveport and Steam VR! However Pixel Ripped 1995 on PSVR is going to take a bit longer to release. It has already been submitted to the Sony QA and certification process, and is expected to launch in May!

While nothing’s confirmed yet, it’s looking more and more possible that finger tracking becomes a major feature of Sony’s next-generation motion controllers for a possible PSVR 2. We do know that Sony is prototyping new headsets and we also know that its next-generation console, the PS5, will support the original PSVR headset. A true successor seems likely, and a new pair of controllers to accompany it is also likely to happen.

<big>Half-Life: Alyx Catapults VR Headsets On Steam To 2 Million Users</big>

In April, the percentage of Steam users with a VR headset increased from 1.29% to 1.91%, likely thanks to the success of Valve’s Half-Life: Alyx.

That’s an increase of roughly 50%- relatively enormous growth. Last month, Valve changed the way Steam reports VR users. That means March and April’s data cannot be meaningfully compared to anything in the past.

1.91% may not sound like a lot. But comparing it to other currently niche items on the Hardware Survey shows PC VR is off to a great start already.

In fact, if the current trend keeps up, within two months we expect more Steam users will use a VR headset than a 4K primary monitor.

The Oculus Quest is a standalone headset. It was designed to bring room scale VR to people who don’t own a gaming PC. That said, Quest can also be used as a PC VR headset, officially via a USB 3.0 cable, or wirelessly through the paid app Virtual Desktop’s SideQuest patch.

Because of how these methods work, Quest only started showing up in the Steam Hardware Survey in the March data, at which time it represented 2.89%. That has now increased to 6.03%, the largest percentage growth we’ve seen any specific headset make yet.

While the vast majority of Quest owners clearly still don’t own a gaming PC, social distancing and household isolation may be driving PC sales significantly as consumers spend more time inside alone. Quest stock starting to return could also be a significant contributor to this growth.

There is another possible explanation however. Inexplicitly, the Oculus Rift S dropped from 27% to 22%, formerly being the most popular headset but now losing out to HTC’s original Vive from 2016. It may be possible that Valve corrected an issue that was causing some Quests to be detected as Rift S.

While the Steam Hardware Survey is by far the most reliable indicator of the size and makeup of the PC VR market, there are still multiple ways to interpret the data. We’ll keep a close eye throughout this year to track how PC VR grows.

Responses from the gaming community regarding Saints & Sinners Walking Dead port to psvr has been positive and PSVR players are loving it. Even the limits of the Move Controllers hasn't been an issue. Kudos to Skydance Interactive & Skybound for their work.

<b>Games on Sale until June 11 worth noting</b>;

I've been waiting for Robinson: The Journey to go on sale since it released nearly 3 years ago. With a PS+ account, the deal costs you $6 in the PS Store. Even with many games in backlog, can't let a good deal pass up. Heard game has some of the best PSVR graphics but more of an experience than gameplay. Creed, is also on sale for less than $10 (with PS+) which is a steal!


<b>Iron Man Demo Impressions?</b>

Anyone else have Iron Man impressions? Early Impressions - I loved it! First PSVR game that actually got it working in 360 which amazes me regarding PSVR limitations. Flying also feels excellent. Game feels like its been put together with a nice budget giving it a AAA feel. Going to get this day 1.

Thus far, it hasn't been canceled and could change but, the UploadVR Summer Showcase is still scheduled for Monday, June 8th at 12pm ET/ 9am PT. Pre-show begins half-hour earlier.


As expected, delayed until June 16th.
