This is exactly what I want as well.

Rather than The Show, I find more enjoyment in Super Mega Baseball or RBI.

    NBA? Rather play 3on3.

Wish there was a solid football counterpart. And to be fair 3on3 isn't exactly the answer for basketball either.

I would welcome a Pro Wrestling Switch. I would buy the console for that game if it was well done.

****, if we're going in that direction a new 1080 would be almost too obvious. I really miss me some snowboarding and skateboarding games.

One of many examples I could give: Nvidia's GTX 1070 is rated at 6.5TF vs AMD's Fury X at 8.6TF. If you didn't know any better, you would think the higher number would mean the AMD card is more powerful, but in actuality the 1070 is on average ~10% faster.

In portable mode it should be slightly above Wii U. In docked mode it's essentially a Wii U Pro. The docked performance seems a bit disappointing for sure though.
Either way, the system is years outdated before it even launches. To me, there's NO EXCUSE for Switch to be weaker than consoles that came out three years ago. No power equals no third party support equals system dead within three years.

Nintendo's exclusives are classics but look at history, outside of Wii which was a huge fluke, every console has sold less and less and less. That's because the console has become weaker, crappier and more gimmicky than ever.

I can't say for sure if I would play third party games on Switch but that's not the point. Having the ability to do so is the point and can only lead to success but those third party games have to be up to par with the PS4/Xbox One counterparts but here in lies the problem, if the console doesn't have the power to do this then it's all for nothing because the cycle will just keep continuing.

I loved Nintendo back in the day (SNES is my all time favorite console) and enjoyed NES, SNES, N64 and GCN but Nintendo has gotten worse and worse with each console they release. It all starts with the console and what it's capabilities and specs are. If these two areas are limited or simply underwhelming, the console will just be another Wii U.

You'll get your 5-8 exclusive Nintendo games that appeal to you but that's it. Wii U only has three games I want to play and I wasn't going to buy a console for just three games. That's insane especially when the value of it is non-existent.

I just wish Nintendo would compete again like they did back in the SNES/Genesis era. Anything less is just such a disappointment to me personally because looking back, it just hurts because it's like....WTF happened??? Oh well. Hopefully, Switch impresses me enough to pre-order it. Just have to wait and see.

I bet they don't want it to be as expensive as other consoles on release...not sure how many would buy if it was 500 bucks

If it was as powerful as an original PS4, had access to the same third party library and had its Nintendo exclusives, I think a good number of people start considering it their second console the way PS4 might be to their Xbox or vice versa.

Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017

The bottom line I think is if Nintendo did a much better job getting their classic games on their system, the ones that made us all love Nintendo to begin with, then they'd not need as much third party support. A Mario here, a Zelda there, just isn't going to cut it for many people like myself anymore. Not unless, as I said before, the system is relatively cheap, which so many of you think that it will not be (and by cheap I mean $199 or less).

Its obvious that for, whatever reason, Nintendo simply will not attempt to compete in hardware. Whether its because they think it's a losing battle or whether it is, as they claim, a philosophical one, then that seems to be apparent. Nintendo simply thinks they are above the fray and maybe at one time they were but their recent success, or lack of it, does not correspond to that line of thinking. They are not only NOT above the fray, they are way below the fray LOL

Either get with the program and put out many, many more first party and/or old school type titles that differentiate yourself from Xbox/PS4 or just abandon hardware completely and sell off all of your worthwhile IPs to Sony and Microsoft where they may be able to actually put them to use in the mass market.

I could be wrong and there may be unreleased games, information, etc but I see a bad future coming up for Nintendo hardware unless something else is revealed. And that sucks because I think we are all much better off with a successful Nintendo in the mix.

As others have said in this thread, often it seems Microsoft and Sony seem intent on making ultra realistic games and forgetting the fun. It appears Nintendo is inverse. We need somewhere in the middle and without a Nintendo in the arena I fear we will never see any convergence.

Speaking only for myself, I am really looking forward to the Switch. If I can play NBA 2K, Madden, PES and Skyrim (maybe Dark Souls) on a unified console/portable platform, I would love it.

There are a lot of games in my backlog and I will enjoy being able to play them wherever I am. I have all the consoles and a gaming PC and for me, fun > cutting edge graphics.

Nintendo just continues to confuse me man. The thing I see is people saying that Nintendo consoles are supposed to be supplements to a main console but those are already supplements to my PC. They're going so far under anything relevant spec wise that our phones will be as powerful as this thing. It's very confusing to me.

I also think there's more than enough "fun" games on the big consoles to play around with, whether they be Sunset Overdrive, Ratchet and Clank, stuff like that. I legit don't understand what they're going for as far as the home console. The portable concept is still intriguing to me.

Yeah I'm a bit confused as well as to what they are doing, I think a lot of people are.

However, for the "fun games" on MS and Sony systems, although that is true, I think Nintendo does the fun game better than anyone. I mean you really can't compare Mario Kart to like kart games on a PS4 or Xbox One. Mod Nation Racers was cool and I bought it and loved it but lets be honest here, it was just to fill a Mario Kart void...lol

Not me. I couldn't give a fig about any of Nintendo's IPs. 99% of my gaming is sports (hockey, football and baseball). I also love having a mobile option (and an iPhone or iPad will NEVER work for me as a gaming device), so I would only be interested in the Switch if it has sports games.

I love sports it is my number 1 hobby video games is second but I don't play has much sports games has I used to. I used to play sports games like 80% of the time. Now I am more like 20% because I have gotten into a lot of other games and because I have to decide what games to play more as I don't have the time I used to for video games now that I am a grown up.

Nintendo needs to cater to us sports fans we've been ignored enough. Just imagine Nintendo with their own basketball, wrestling titles not arcade but simulation and I'm not talking 2k or ea. If they were done well I could see it becoming big console pushers.

This would be great the only issue iirc is that those other companies have exclusive licenses for those respective leagues. One might say who cares about "real" players, teams etc but that's a bigger plus then I think most naysayers realize, one reason why you don't see non league licensed games anymore
