I decided I'm not going to keep my Wii U so I checked around and Amazon is giving $168 trade in for the 32gb black version...

Trading that and my old two Wii's with Mario Kart for $277 Amazon Gift card once they get my package..

Just thought I'd let all you Wii U guys know in case you were thinking of getting rid of yours and maybe using that gift card to a new Switch.

Never I like the wii u and there are to many good games to get rid of the wii and not be able to play again like DKTF, Rayman legends, wonderful 101, Mario kart 8, Splatoon to name just a few.

Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon have been confirmed to get updated ports for Switch. DKTF should also eventually be ported even though it hasn't been confirmed yet but im expecting an announcement on January 12th or at E3. Rayman Legends is on PS4. Only game you would be losing is Wonderful 101. Unless you have more, one game isn't worth keeping a console for.

Even if you where to trade in you wii u and get a switch and some of those games again we don't know how much those games are going to cost. Knowing Nintendo Mario kart 8 on switch will cost a full 60, Splatoon I am hoping is a splatoon 2 not just a remaster and if it is a remaster again with it being Nintendo it is most likely going to cost 60. DKTF we don't know. Heck DKCR ended up making its way to 3ds yet DKTF never did. Also star fox zero I know a lot of people didn't like it but it is a good game. Then there is Mario 3d world. So that is 3 games and yes I know Rayman Legends is on ps4 but that would still mean I would have to spend money to rebuy that version even if it is not much it is still some money. Then got Nintendo land, Mario wii u. So that is now 5 games plus having to rebuy some of those Switch verisons. Again knowing Nintendo we could see Mario kart 8, Splatoon, DKTF, all at 60 so 180 for the 3 and then there are still those other 5 games plus having to buy Rayman legends again. Also ports and or remasters is not enough for me to want a new system. If all we get on day 1 is just Zelda or just a new Mario game and nothing else but remasters and or ports that would be a big disappointment.

Keeping a console for one game is better than buying a new console just to buy the same games over again.

Also I'm pretty sure Daniel just purchased an Xbox one for the 4th time because of a dlc to a game he had already bought. So obviously he's a little to quick to pull the trigger when it comes to selling consoles.

wait until jan 12th to see if the switch truly can replace it

nintendo has said its not supposed to replace the wii u

Unless I'm mistaken. I thought I saw a post from him the other day saying he bought an Xbox one S for 250 after selling it in November for 200 because he thought the forza dlc looked great.

I sort of doubt I am buying the Switch at this point, BUT I am hoping I'll be convinced otherwise. We previously got the Wii U because the wife likes to play Mario but she really plays mostly iPad and iPhone games so unless I see some seriously compelling games that poke my nostalgia on the Nintendo Switch I will pass.

Feel free to screenshot this quote though and rub it in my face if I do break down and buy one, LOL

P.S. An awesome looking Windwalker (and it does look awesome) is not doing it for me. Plenty of games like that on the X1/PS4. I need something more/different for an entire console purchase.

Nostalgia man, Nintendo needs to hit me there to get me on board heh.

wow, hardly anyone is my guess. That's crazy. Better be wrong.

Needs to be $199 or if more needs to have multiple, high quality AAA titles with it to make it sell.

True and I agree to an extent. Depends on the situation. For Wii U, the majority of the consoles best games will get Switch ports which makes Wii U obsolete even more than it already is.

Hahahahaha. Buying and selling consoles over and over is a horrible habit that I have done since the days of Super Nintendo. Like they say, old/bad habits are hard to break. LOL.

Had no plans on buying back the Xbox One Slim but that expansion for Forza Horizon 3 got me. Otherwise, I was going to wait until State of Decay 2 was shown and if it could be played solo. Also, wanted to wait for a black Xbox One Slim. Oh well.

In the end, I didn't lose any money and broke even. Despite buying and selling over and over, I always break even at the very least so outside of the hassle which is minimal at worse, it's not a big deal whatsoever. Eventually, I'll stop doing this. LOL.

I don't care what Nintendo says, the Switch IS meant to replace the Wii U and 3DS. The entire point of the Switch is for it to combine home console gaming and handheld gaming into one unit. Ideally, this should expand the library of games simply because a lot of games that would have only been available on their handheld can now be played on a TV screen.

I'm still 50/50 in regards to buying the Switch. Eight more days to go. It's going to come down to price, launch lineup, games lineup for the rest of 2017 and virtual console info and games.

What would be awesome and extend the library by hundreds of games would be if the 3DS games were all fully backwards compatible on Switch but without the 3D effect. That would be huge in my opinion. Also hoping Nintendo announces a Switch port of SM3DW and DKTF.

All this and a $200 launch price pretty much guarantees me pre-ordering Switch.
