Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017
That's breath of life. Wind waker was the one that released on Wii and Wii U I think. I could be wrong on that though.
Edit: actually looks like wind waker was originally a game cube game. Pretty sure I got a wind waker Wii U edition when I bought Wii U though.Comment

The Zelda game is called Breath of the Wild for Switch. And Laura Kate Dale has confirmed that Zelda will be a launch title 100%.Comment

I meant $200 for just the core hybrid console. That's it. No game packed in because that increases the price. $200 would be ideal for me. Of course, I have to buy a Pro controller and of course, games so im hoping that the console launches at $200.

The rumors have the Switch being $250 or $300 (depending on the base unit) with a game but the game is rumored to be Splatoon which I have no interest in whatsoever.Comment

I guess but at the same time, why buy a console at launch if you're not also buying at least one game with it?

If they do go with a set price like you say, at least give us 3 different console/games to choose from.
You are right, I don't want Splatoon either. I'd rather have Super Tecmo Bowl 2017 with my Nintendo Switch.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017
Because the hardware is interesting and you want to try it out but that's what I mean, they should include a game or at least demos.

The hardware is very interesting but it's the software that sells the hardware as opposed to the other way around. Launching Switch at $200 increases the chances that it sells a hell of a lot more units than it does at $250 or $300 with a game especially when the game included could be a game that simply doesn't interest/appeal to the consumer.
To me, I think one base unit at $200 and allowing consumers to buy the games they want on their own would be better than increasing the price $50 or more and including a game that consumers may not want or have any interest in. Also, packing in a remaster of a Wii U game is something that I see as a negative as opposed to a positive. I have no problem with the Wii U games being ported to Switch for those who didn't play them (like me with SM3DW and DKTF) but to force those games into the console and increase the price is just a negative to me.
Knowing the fact that Nintendo simply doesn't lose money on hardware tells me that my prediction is still $300 to start but im hoping im very wrong and that the start is $200 because for Switch, that would be my sweet spot. Any higher and the chances of me buying it decreases because I also have to factor in the PRO controller which for me is a must and then games. Console, PRO and one game will already increase the total cost to $320 before tax so here in NY, im looking at around $350.
Also, the Xbox One Slim is now $280 new at retail while the PS4 base/slim bundles are $300. Coming in at $250/$300 is very risky because while the portable aspect is huge for a lot of people, for me, it would just be an added bonus and comparing to what the PS4/Xbox One Slim consoles offer overall, I would say that the Switch wouldn't exactly measure up. Add in little to no PS4/Xbox One ports of multi-platform games and it becomes less appealing.
$200 for me personally would be perfect and for Nintendo would be perfect especially when there's a very good chance PS4 Slim and Pro will get at least a $50 or more price cut come the Fall in preparation for the launch of Scorpio.
Granted, Nintendo does their own thing but they need to look at what the consumers like me who aren't into Nintendo anymore need to get back into Nintendo. The 15m or so loyal hardcore fans will always be there but it's not them who Nintendo needs to attract to their console. It's the fans like me who know that im not getting PSN/XBLA/Indie games like the other consoles do, there's no 4K, no HDR, possibly no Ethernet port, third party support that could realistically die out before 2017 even ends and other factors.
Main advantage Nintendo has is the unique idea of Switch being a hybrid but if the price is too high, that won't matter to anyone outside of the loyal Nintendo fans.Comment

I've tried out the original Wii down at Target for about 30 minutes and years later tried out the Wii-U down at Best Buy for about 20 minutes and had enough for a lifetime. Give me a free original Wii and Wii-U and they'd be collecting dust. I'll pay $300 plus tax for the Switch (and if it's completely free of motion control gimmicks), I'll essentially retire my PS4, PS3, and 360.
It's not about the price, it's about the experience that will bring back gamers to Nintendo. Mario, Donkey Kong, Zelda, Metroid, etc. Even if it's priced at $100 dollars, if I have to swing my arms or jump up and down or whatever body motion, I'll never make the Switch. Don't let me down. Nintendo's main advantage has always been their first party games.Comment

Motion controls were pretty much not a thing for Wii U. I have a fairly decent library of games (including DK and multiple mario games) and do no arm swinging or jumping up and down.Last edited by ricky24; 01-05-2017, 02:03 PM.Comment

Yeah Wii U did away with all that. Unfortunately Wii U pretty much did away with any games as well LOLStreaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017
Agreed. Unfortunately I'm not sold on switch being any better game wise. Yeah Zelda but that's coming to Wii U too and I have a tough time giving them credit for having that at switch launch since it was delayed numerous times in order to pull that off. Besides that what do we know of? New mario game, mk8.5?Comment

Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017
Did the Wii-U fully do away with motion controls? They still had Wii-U motion controllers, did they not? Wasn't there some type of tilt control with the Wii-U gamepad? Is there a regular traditional NES/SNES/PS3/XBOX type controller that will work will ALL Wii-U games?
