I based the Metroid following the Destiny approach due to Zeld aand mario BOTH finally being open world games.

they are def trying to make their ips FIT into the current gaming scenarios currently going on.

look at Super mario Run. Its "their" platforming ip ON mobile

its simple

Nintendo is learning from their mistakes with Wii U and making it so that their game ip ARE fitting in to modern situations

EVEN though the system/switch is grossly under powered.

Big developers have been spoiled by the EASE of development tools and just copy and pasting the most massive texture files and engine data that they dont want to go back and do the "nintendo thing" which is SMART programming.

ANYONE complaining about lack of a hard drive doesnt understand ONE thing about how a console works now.

A PS4 and a xbox one NEED a hard drive to play games becasue you "install!" the game froma disc ONTO the system.

for Nintendo switch? it plays OFF the cartridge... Thats smart if you want the "modern luxury" of playing it off the system disc then YOU CAN buy a external memory card too simple.No one complains when they had 500gb and had to upgrade their hard drives to a 2 tb ones for their xbox and ps4 respectively? right?

Hmmm, that's not a good release window at all. Nintendo should be porting SM3DW, DKTF, Captain Toad and any other exclusives from them to Switch. It pads the lineup, can be spread out and in some cases, will get people buy them. Hell, I would buy the first two day one for $60 each.

Super Mario Odyssey should come out before black weekend for sure and even then, it needs to stay away from some games and God help every publisher if RDR2 actually comes out in the Fall.

Horrible drought but not surprising whatsoever. What do you mean by Metroid being a Destiny situation?

IF Nintendo released all those games how many of them would you personally buy?

Im getting the switch for zelda alone since there is absolutely NO game like to anywhere else at all.


IF Nintendo said heres ALL these games with ALL these other games releasing for ps4 and xbox one you'd be buying close to 30 games every 3 months say.

I personally want only the most crucial Nintendo ips and i look to ps4 and xbox one for their most crucial games and i look to the system offering the best performance when it comes to multi platform games

Im getting the switch for zelda alone since there is absolutely NO game like to anywhere else at all.

Actually aren't there a lot of games like Zelda on both Xbox One and PS4? Just none are actually Zelda but...

Good point on the game release schedule....I'd just wonder how long they can keep up a every 2 month cadence when there's probably a lack of 3rd party games....Nintendo hasn't shown the ability to push a lot of games out.

Not only that but, and again I hate to be a negative nellie or whatever, but this is just a list of promises that they may or may not be able to keep. I seem to remember a lot of promises of a game schedule on the Wii U too that happened at first, but then in time, dates just slipped and games weren't there.

Just sayin'......

I haven't seen anything confirming this. For me, certainly not a make-or-break proposition. Mario games have worked just fine in a linear format for decades.

Off the top of my head I would say The Witcher 3, but that's all that really comes to mind that matches Zelda's action/adventure and RPG leanings while being a top quality game.

Im following this years lineup of releases as what Nintendo will probably do

Maybe im also playing to much my laura dale side with the switch as well

But im excited for the future of the switch

it aint for lack of trying to be optimistic as well

Then you can say that about any game.

The point is if Zelda is an open world rpg then there are definitely a few others that do what Zelda does, but less Zelda like.

If you make the argument that nothing is like Zelda, someone else can make the argument that nothing is like The Witcher, or Skyrim, or GTA, or Watch Dogs, or Sleeping Dogs, or Red Dead, or let's just keep going.

I love Zelda too. Love it. It's the only reason why I'm still debating spending the $300+ even though I know I shouldn't right now. But let's not get carried away and act as if no one has done anything like the new Zelda.
