I want to test out the unit that comes with the Switch before buying a Pro Controller. I'd rather not spend $70 on a controller if the standard unit is comfortable enough.

Yeah at this point I'm not worried about getting a Pro controller.

I don't know why Amazon never emails me when they have something in stock, what's the point of their sign up thing if they don't follow through.

Their alerts have never worked for me. I have twitter alerts set up to notify me of stuff in stock.

The neon Switch was up for about 5 mins till sold out. Pro controllers were in stock at Best Buy and GameStop today as well.

Wal-Mart is supposedly still doing pre-orders in store. I don't know if its for release day but they are taking pre-orders.

They have worked for me but only for items that aren't selling out in minutes. For something like this my guess is it needs some time to queue up on their servers before sending out, and the availability is gone before it gets that far.

Knowing that the reveal was going to be on Jan 13th and knowing that pre orders were going to open on the next day most ppl had a good 4 hrs to prepare to pre order.(if say you arrived at a gamestop a couple of hrs before they open to make sure you were able to get one of the untis they were allotted)

SOME stores were able to have a larger window of time to pre order throughout the day, so it gave ppl EVEN MORE time.


It now being sold out and it now not being available is NO surprise.

Getting a Switch at launch was a planned event for me. Plan better.

I'm still expecting a second wave of pre-orders in mid-February give or take for launch. The demand for Switch is obviously the highest it will ever be for the console (like every launch) and Nintendo need to meet those demands.

I have a neon one pre ordered at GameStop and a Grey one on Amazon. I really like the neon even though people seem to hate it

I'm glad you're on top of things. Forget the alerts not working. Just plan better.

I didn't preorder the controller because I think paying them the $70 blood money price is outrageous. I'll break down eventually though.

Flash storage on the cartridges and 400MB/s hard drive speed should lead to zippy performance and hopefully few loading scenes. Solid-State like performance could be a huge boon.
