"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

lol, very true. Overall I think he has a good point, it's like someone not getting a raise and saying 'well I didn't want a raise, I prefer to make that money at a second job'.
It's clearly a 'why not both' situation, it'd be in everyone's best interest to have full parity with the other consoles when it comes to potential sports games, the unfortunate reality is that's impossible. Textures will be have to be reduced, audio will have to be further compressed and the combination of those who will result in entire modes and features missing. Given that, it's likely we get things that are 'made for Switch' to help cover the things that are missing.
Would love for EA to throw their weight around and push some kind of 'any platform, take your game with you' and allow you to resume a franchise on any console, Switch included. That'd be the pipe dreams of pipe dreams though.Comment

For the companies who have said they have no plans to bring "Title X" to the Switch, I think it's not about the capabilities of the Switch. I don't think there is a modern title that would not work on the console given that there are already Switch games running at 1080p 60fps and the cartridges are plenty big to fit any-sized modern game. The game might look better on the PS4/XBONE, of course. The real reason these companies have no plans to port titles is they don't think the sales will be high enough, given that for most people the Switch will be a secondary system. If the Switch sells like gangbusters, then we might see more third party ports.
What's unfortunate is that a whole swath of third party developers who have spent time with the Switch have all sung its praises and declared it an awesome system. But then many of them have announced they will take a wait and see approach as to whether they will program for it. This is unfortunate because, personally, I would love to make the Switch my primary system for the reason that I could pause any game, undock the tablet, and instantly resume playing on the go. I love that functionality, especially because I have to travel quite a bit to meet clients for work, and it's why I'll get NBA 2k18 on the Switch if it is as fully featured as its PS4/XBONE counterparts.Comment

Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017
I'd really be much more interested in the Switch and buying EA and 2K sports games on a Switch if they did go ahead and make the graphics lcartoon like and didn't go for the realistic look, which is as some have said, is just going to be like the ps4 or X1 but worse.
And as many have said this will be a lot of ppls service system so it would make sense for them to do that

Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017
Compare Zelda, the stylized and relatively simple graphics and it is running at 900p/30fps when docked. Now look at The Witcher, running also at 900p/30fps on the Xbox One. It's a little more than texture compression and cartridge size at play and it's likely not trivial or convenient for third parties to bridge that gap in a multi-platform title.Comment

Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017
If we're giving sports games cartoon or stylized graphics (which I doubt any AAA game - sports or otherwise - is going to develop a completely separate graphics style for the Switch) then I'd rather bring back NBA Street and SSX.

For those wondering as to why the Pro controller can't be pre-ordered yet from any site other than Nintendo, it's because the FCC finally approved it yesterday so expect pre-orders for the controller to go up within a few days on sites.Comment

Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017
Don't you guys who are going to buy the switch believe that they should make the sports games in the vein of like Madden would look like Tecmo Bowl?
Most of the folks who are buying a Switch already can buy realistic looking sports games on their PS4 or Xbox One.
The Switch should have all of its sports games look cartoon like, like NFL Street and/or Tecmo Bowl, and it will sell a lot better I think..Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017
I would love to see the revival of arcade style sports titles on Switch. Unfortunately I don't believe that will ever happen. Nintendo would have to develope their own and I won't hold my breath on them doing that.
Power Pro Baseball would be perfect on the Switch. Never gonna happen, though.Comment

Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017
Nintendo probably doesn't even have the expertise anymore to create those games, and third-parties aren't going to do it when their already on tight schedules of having to deliver annual sports titles.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Never would have guessed.
I imported Pro Yakyuu for PS4 this year, if Konami brings the series over the Switch that would be great.
Then we can talk about a new Fire Pro Wrestling game for Switch.Comment
