Gotta love some of the articles inregards to the Nintendo Switch current stocks in store
Gamespot goes "We have contacted nintendo about the stock shortages..."
???WHAT???!!!!
First off...
1) They fulfilled pre orders...
and...
2) They sold out of their INITIAL run of launch consoles..
They made what they made they werent EVER going to make more than the INITIAL RUN at first...
iphone 7's were BACK ORDERED for months

Apple and Nintendo are definitely two of the best at controlling supply stock initially. Keeps the hype up. Microsoft and Sony don't really seem to have this issue unless it's a premium item like the elite controller. I agree with those reports. Nintendo has a history of having shortages and it's stupid. They can easily have more but yet they don't. The biggest negative with not having the console consistently available is that some consumers may decide to take that money and buy one of the other two consoles if they don't own one or both of them especially now when the Switch is at the highest demand it will most likely ever be.Comment

They are mostly blaming Nintendo for not simply making more.
Which to be honest Nintendo was smart not to.
If systems were sitting on shelves everyone would be calling it a failure.
This VERY thread even had the talk of "still on walmart shelves!"(which makes no sense because Walmart doesn't necessarily have the reputation of being a place you buy electronics from LOL)
Here's an example
I want the Sheik Amiibo cuz it does some AWESOME effing stuff in BOTW as far as items go. Now Nintendo added it into the game but only IF you had the sheik amiibo. They did that as a almost a thank you to those who went out and got one when they were available.
Should i be now mad at Nintendo for doing that? No. its actually a pretty awesome thing. Should i be butt hurt due tot he fact that i can now only get one on ebay for 80 dollars? no. because the sheik amiibo came out two years ago during super smash.
That 80 dollars after market price is justified in the real world now. You have to have had it kept under wraps not opened boxed for 2 years keeping it safe.
All i can say is this.
Supplyis made after demand not before it.
Nintendo will have switches out for holiday. Those early adopters of the switch ninentedo already thought of satisfiying by announcing DLC to zelda. because as ealy adopters know all we want is more zelda now. Oh ok I figured just pushing the power button like I have been doing was what you had to do. Didn't know the 5 second thing and didn't know a message would come up. Or I thought maybe besides just pushing the power button that there may have been some setting in the main menu that controls if it goes to sleep mode or not.Comment

Disagree with this entire post.
NOT having extra units available for consumers to buy which you know, is the entire point of selling a console in the first place is disappointing and simply a bad business decision because you're potentially losing out on consumers buying your product which in turn, puts them in your eco-system and hopefully keeps them in it.
Take me for example, there's already three games that I want to play for Switch so im buying it once it's available for purchase again BUT what if all I wanted to play was Zelda and couldn't walk into the store and buy it? And while in that store, saw games for the other consoles? Most consumers would buy the other console because they're already there and want to buy something. That become a lost sale that Nintendo may never get back. To me, a launch especially for Nintendo coming off of Wii U is way more important than it would be for Sony and Microsoft. Add in all the problems you read about every day and it's simply not good for Nintendo.
Nintendo wouldn't get stuck with extra consoles as long as they have Zelda in stores. Besides, how many copies do you think that Nintendo had manufactured of Zelda? If they manufactured 5M copies of Zelda, why NOT have at least 5M Switch consoles available for pre-order and debut weekend? As well as throughout March? Seriously, it makes no sense.
Nintendo is already limiting their user install base by just being Nintendo but limiting even more by not having more consoles ready is again, simply a stupid business decision made by old men who quite honestly are obsolete and past their prime. Kind of like Congress.
The entire point is to sell MORE, not LESS. Zelda will only carry Switch for so long. Once the novelty wares off, then what? With all the hype, great reviews for Zelda and overall good positive word of mouth, now would have been the perfect time to have more Switch consoles available for purchase.
As for the Amibos, are you kidding me? So to get extra items in Zelda, I have to buy an Amibo? Sorry but that's bullcrap. I should be able to purchase or earn those items in-game WITHOUT having to spend additional money on an Amibo that I have no interest in.
Nintendo having Switch consoles available for the holidays means NOTHING NOW. Let's say that there's no consoles available to the fall? Six months and sold out? That's not going to increase sales, that's going to decrease sales because all that will do is people off.
As for Zelda DLC, it's a joke. It's all a bunch of crappy items and junk. Only one actual story expansion is included and that's not coming out until late 2017. And why is "hard" mode locked behind an expansion pass? Any other publisher does that, they get bashed to hell. Nintendo gets a free pass. And im still trying to figure out why an Wii U owner would want Link to wear a Switch shirt???
I know you LOVE Nintendo but come on man, having no consoles available for purchase is only hurting themselves.Comment
