Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
They make more money by you paying a recurring subscription than a one time purchase. They never have to give you ownership of the games, so if you want to play you have to subscribe.Comment

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
I'm curious how many Switch only gamers we have here...?
I'm getting close to going that route...I just don't have the time and the Switch fits my at home life so much better than either other console. I'm in love with it. I know I'd be missing out on games but I do already now and honestly, Nintendo's first/second party is the one I care about the most.
I'm enjoying Borderlands 3 and can't wait for Shadowkeep but beyond that if I'm being honest, there isn't much on the horizon that excites me much.
I already have such a backlog on this system alone...I'd be plenty busy lol.
Just wondering if any other Switch lovers are in this boat or tinkered with the idea....
In the Nintendo pantheon, NES is still my fav. but it's my def. #2 and by the end of it's lifetime it might very well be #1....
Just the perfect console for me at the perfect time...kept me in gaming in a lot of ways.Patrick Mahomes > GodComment

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
I honestly have not really played anything of note on the PS4 since Spider-Man last year. Even then that was one of the few games I actually played. Having consistent time to play is a big factor, but over the past couple of years my interest in gaming has really died down as other hobbies become more interesting and fulfilling.
The Switch is perfect for me and the selection of games is great so I don't really feel like I'm missing out.

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
I could never be a Switch only owner. SNES is my all time favorite and best console as of now and yet, I still owned a Sega Genesis CDX. Switch is a great console and wil most likely end up being my second best console this generation behind PS4 but ahead of Xbox One as like Xbox One, it's just for exclusives but Switch is impressing the hell out of with their exclusives and that includes not caring or having interest in the third person 3D Zelda/Mario games.
Also, im not a handheld gamer and always play Switch exclusives docked. It's great as a secondary console but as the "only" console? No way. Hell, I can't do that with any platform. I always have to own all the consoles or at least, the vast majority of them.
With that said, I can easily see a lot of gamers being "Switch only" owners because you can play docked, on the go, it's a great system for those who have kids, it has nostalgia, the quality is easily there, etc. so yeah, can definitely see it for some but not for me personally.Comment

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
I'm Switch only, and have been pretty much Nintendo only this decade. After having a son in 2008, I really lost the time to really do the gaming I used to do on my Dreamcast, ps2, XBox, and 360, so right now on my entertainment center, I have a Wii, WiiU (yup, I'm one of those guys), and Switch. I pretty much have everything back to a Gamecube covered with the Wii (it's an original run one). My son and I did have 3DSs, but we weren't playing them so we traded them and their games in towards another Switch.
...then my wife preordered a Switch Lite for herself to get delivered Friday
I love the form factor of the Switch, have some great cases for it for handheld mode, and just love what Nintendo is doing this generation. I've lost all desire to get a dedicated 'console' like a ps4 or XBO as I've sort of lost that drive for their exclusives at age 42.XBox Gamertag: djbeth77

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
I'd probably also want Nintendo to be a bit better for 3rd party big games, but as I game a bit less that's not as big a deal.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
I'm 43, I never play my PS4 Pro or my Xbox one X despite the fact that they're hooked up to a gorgeous 60" OLED tv.
I play Switch or PC stuff on a 1440p monitor. Lately I've been playing PS2 era Madden/NCAA football as well. I really don't care about AAA gaming anymore, I have a few gaming interests and I stick to those.
My 9 year old finished Spiderman on PS4 in the Summer, other than that we don't use the PS4.Comment
