Re: Sony releases first new details of the next PS PS5
Monster specs as expected but also expected to be expensive which is fine by me. Rather have a powerful console day one. Best of all, it's all from Cerny and thus, legitimate. My only fear is that they rush it out in less than a year from now which I truly hope that they DON'T do. I'm hoping for September or November 2020. -

It might be more ok if they're releasing everything for both systems for a while, similar to MS's backwards compatibility strategies, but we'll see.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Sony releases first new details of the next PS PS5
The ps5 will launch close to the next xbox in late 2020 and it will be 400 dollars
By that time parts are cheaper and it will be a hot item and sell a ton at 400
The next xbox will come around the same time and it will be a bit more beefier console in terms of specs and I think MS needs to do no more than 450 but could be 500Comment

As I said in the other thread, just tell me when, where, and how much.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: Sony releases first new details of the next PS PS5
Price can be a concern though....they got away with it this gen by adding on the Pro and X consoles as an option....but if a PS5 is like 500 bucks or something that'll tamper sales a little bit. I wouldn't think it'd be insane, but going over 400 is usually a danger (wasn't PS3 pretty pricey? I forget exactly)
It might be more ok if they're releasing everything for both systems for a while, similar to MS's backwards compatibility strategies, but we'll see.
PlayStation 3 was $600 for the best console but they like Xbox 360 had multiple SKU's at different prices. It was just more expensive. The bigger problem was the Cell processor. The launch was equally as bad as Microsoft's Xbox One launch.
I don't mind the one console high price approach. In fact, I prefer it. For example, say Xbox 4 low-end console is $400 and the high end is $600, yeah, it's cheaper but if the specs are considerably lower, how long until the buyer regrets the purchase? Maybe if it's just a random consumer but a gamer will probably regret it a few months later especially when every game that gets shown will be displayed via the high-end console.
I'm not expecting Sony's PS4 exclusives to be cross-gen. What I am expecting is those games to get a PS5 update/patch at launch or shortly after launch but we'll see.Comment

Re: Sony releases first new details of the next PS PS5
Backwards compatibility is huge for me these days. I just hope everything syncs up like now. I have my regular PS4 upstairs in my bedroom and the Pro (and XB1X) in my basement. I probably get 60-70% of my gaming time in on the stock system. When I am playing my Pro, I love being able to seamlessly sync up with and continue on with whatever game has my attention at the moment. It's a way of life for me now.
I'm not big on the spec jargon and honestly, its not a huge selling point for me. Games on my Pro with the 4K TV clearly look better than the ones on the 1080P TV in the bedroom, but it's not a huge gulf to me. I just hope the specs allow from some epic scale battles; I'm expecting some big ones in God of War 5.
Selfishly, I'm hoping for a 2020 release. I have a massive backlog of games to get to and the PS Store sales aren't helping.Comment

I don't think you have to worry about this coming sooner than 2020. I think 2020 is the earliest it releases, and I honestly think that it releases September 2020.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: Sony releases first new details of the next PS PS5
I think it will cost like 500 and will cost 600 for them to make so sold at a lost of like 100 to make it more future prof. 500 is really not a big deal now days. Things cant stay 400 for ever. When ps3 came out it was 600 but what also hurt it was it was when the economy was really bad and multiplatform games played like crap for like the first 2 years because it was hard to make games for. I wonder how long before ps4 both slim and pro get a price cut got to think they will before ps5 comes out. If ps4 wasn't dominating so much most likely pro would be 300 already and slim 200.Comment

Re: Sony releases first new details of the next PS PS5
I sure hope it can play 4k bluray movies pro should have been able to do that. I thought Horizon zero dawn 2 would be a launch game but now there are rumors it will be 2021 but we will see. If it is there may not be really any good excusives at launch as with like GOW being 2018 the next game is still far off and same with spiderman being late 2018 for its sequel too and with TLOU 2 not out yet and also ghost of tsushima not out yet most likely the next games by those two studios are years away to. With that said though being able to play games like spiderman in 4k HDR is pretty cool as I never had a pro to play in 4k with.
Also with Ghost of Tsushima I just saw this. https://www.dailystar.co.uk/tech/gam...y-new-job-leakComment
