Damn that SSD is going to fill up quickly. I have a 4TB external that I’ve packed with games. I got tired of always deleting and reinstalling games.

I actually wouldn't mind more 12-15 hour game experiences like how it use to be. Of course I like a 18-22+ hour stories, but not every major AAA needs to strive for that 25+ hour content. With some of those long stories, you can cut hours of content out and still get the point across. I rather have a 12-15 hour game that every minute matters than a 25+ game filled with fluff that doesn't really matter. I feel with some of these over ambitious games we tend to see these common delays.
I just miss 6th and 7th gen era where most of the major publishers were consistently putting out good games throughout the generations. You would see company's like Rockstar putting out games every 1-2 years from the 6th to 7th gen. Then current gen came and Rockstar only released 1 new game in the generation. I like these grand scale games, but I want to see more overall games. Feels like the trend is 4-6 years of development these grand scale games. I wouldn't mind seeing those 2-3 year development cycle games where they would share engines and assets between games. That's why I appreciate Insomniac Games. To have Spider-Man Morales, Spider-Man Remastered, and Ratchet and Clank ready within launch window after releasing a game in 2018, is an incredible feat. Then you know they're coming with Spider-Man 2 in another 2-3 years.

Jim Ryan the ex Sony boss said a few months back that something was going to have to change with game cost/length. I believe it was a 50% increase every time a new gen comes out and these AAA games are costing 100 Million range now.

Lets use Days Gone as a example a game I enjoyed and finished. The main story alone was 38 hours and for Days Gone 2 that easily could be cut in half and should only improve the quality. If you release a quality 20 hour main campaign that's good enough to replay and then you have optional side quest everyone should be fine with that.

Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season

Lots of cool stuff yesterday. Got reviews for Spiderman mm it's at a solid 85 on metacritic. Sounds like it's a 8 hour story and like 18 to do everything. I do like games to be long but I am tired of people calling this dlc/expansion. 1 games don't have to be long to be good. 2 we where told it was going to be a shorter game. 3 it cost 50 or 20 less then what normal games cost this gen so it was priced like a smaller game. 4 goes back to 1 in that the game will be good this is insomniac after all. 5 getting Spider-Man on ps5 at launch I never thought would happen before we where told about this in june. 6 the game takes placed around Xmas by far my favorite holiday. 7. I bet spiderman 2 is already beeing worked on and they can take some of what they learn with this game on ps5 to make that game even better when we get it.

With the system we got reviews yesterday and digital foundry did a video on bc and found games to run much better. The game I want to see tested the most that they didn't test is the last guardian has the game I think is one of the most underrated games on ps4 but did have a lot of frame rate drops would love if it could run at a solid 30 fps with little to no drops now. We also got news that ps5 keeps track of hour many hours you have played a game kind of like switch and I love that feature. Oh one last thing I almost forgot is going back to the talk about Spiderman mm and it's game length I think how long doesn't bother me has much has a lot of people because with working, trying to find a new job it's rare that I have the time that I can sit down and play a game like 5 straight hours any more.

Miles Morales is basically Uncharted: The Lost Legacy but with more optional side content. I would have preferred a longer story campaign and less side content but it is what it is. Looks amazing and my 85 prediction was correct. Was never expecting Miles to match 2018 Spider Man. Miles will be a great game and stopgap while waiting for the full fledged sequel in 2022.

PlayStation 5 reviews have been pretty much all positive as expected and the BC on PS5 is definitely much better than expected. Don't know why Sony didn't advertise/market this more unless they just weren't sure until it was too late. Overall, it's looking excellent.

I agree. IGN claimed to get around 8.5 hours for campaign. I rather them focused on getting to 10+ hours and sacrificing less side missions.

But, I'm sure I will enjoy it. Spiderman Remastered solidifies the purchase for me. That full game and DLCs plus Miles Morales, is great for me. As someone with FT job and clingy toddler lol, I'm not playing games everyday and not more than 2-3 hours in a day anyway

Yeah, I always prefer a longer story over optional side content. Easy Allies said the campaign was 8-10 hours. I always complete everything before finishing the campaign because once the story campaign is done, the game itself is done for me so I'll get around the 20 hours or so total to do everything and finish the campaign.

You never played Spider Man 2018? Excellent game. Personally, I rated it a 9.0/10 with The City That Never Sleeps expansion an 8.0/10. You're in for a great treat. Just make sure you play the 2018 game first, then City expansion and then Miles.

Spider Man (collection) will definitely keep you busy for a while when you're hmm, not busy. LOL.

I agree. I'm similar in that approach. Once I beat the campaign, I'm done with the game. Only game over the last several years where I beat the campaign and then finished the side missions, is Arkham Knight. But that was my 2nd go through and I wanted to beat the side missions. I will focus on going through side missions as I go through campaign.

Oh I played it lol. I never played the DLCs. I only went through the campaign once when it came out. So, with the game being Remastered, new Peter, DLCs after 2 years, it will be like a new experience for me.

Yeah its odd they didn't do more advertisement for bc and I thought we would have like full details by now for games on ps5. Like I know GOT can run at 60 fps on ps5 but will it also have a 4k 30fps option? What about games like GOW, Horizon etc. Yeah that is what I mean we where told it was going to be basically uncharted lost legacy from the start and all the other stuff I said.

See like I said between working and trying to find a new job I don't always have free time kind of like you with a toddler lol. I also get more out of games I guess than a lot of people because 1 I dont mind replaying games. Yeah I dont replay games like over and over all the time but I am not a 1 and done either. I go about things differently then a lot of people do. For example this game is said to be about 8 hours for story and about 18 hours for everything. When I play games on first play threw I like only do story and do like zero side missions. I fell like doing it that way it gives me a reason to go back and play a game a second time. I then do a second play threw doing everything. So that means like for me it will be around 8 hours +18 to give me about 26 hours before I have done anything.

Yeah, I have very limited time lol. Me and my GF don't share days off. So the time she's home, I don't want to spend that time playing games when she is home. I get way more time with the toddler since I just work three 12 hour shifts and she work 8 hour shifts. Part of the reason I took the last year off gaming was spend my free time with my toddler. I already know my time will be very limited. Best chances will be if my toddler takes a 2+ nap after my GF goes to work on my day off and if she goes to sleep on time if I don't work next day. I don't go to sleep late on days I work the next day. Even if I get the PS5 by 11/13-11/14, the earliest I probably might play is 11/19.

Yeah, with my GF's schedule, its just me and the toddler most days. But, even my GF said we might get her a learning tablet for Christmas. I just didn't want to get my toddler hooked on electronics early . But with every being focused on electronics, it'll be hard to avoid. But, I will definitely find time. The tablet will keep her occupied next to me.

I'm just looking to getting the console. Since I'll have my toddler, that's why I just want to get my wireless earbuds to work with the console. I just have to look for a Bluetooth 5.0 USB dongle.

Everything you want to know about PlayStation 5, all in one place.

"What types of headsets can I use to enjoy 3D Audio?
                              ...
Players can also experience 3D Audio on PS5 with a PS5-compatible headset that you may already own, either through the console’s USB connection, or by plugging an analog headset into the DualSense wireless controller’s 3.5mm headset jack."
                              ...
Can I use the official Gold or Platinum wireless headsets with PS5?

Yes, the official Gold Wireless Headset and Platinum Wireless Headset are natively supported on PS5, using either the included wireless USB adaptor or the 3.5mm headset jack on the DualSense wireless controller.

                              Can I use third-party headsets with PS5?

Officially licensed headsets from third-party manufacturers will be available after the launch of PS5. Some headsets licensed for the PS4 console may work or may require a device firmware update. Please consult with your headset’s manufacturer for compatibility questions.

Wireless headsets from third-party companies that use a Bluetooth connection will not be supported on PS5, though most USB and analog headsets will be supported.

Headsets that can connect to a 3.5mm jack, USB-A, or USB-C will work for 3D Audio."

Something I want to know about. What are the PS5-Compatiable headsets? I also need to research bluetooth 3.5mm headset jacks just in case.

"Can I listen to my own music while playing on PS5?

Yes. Spotify will be supported at launch, enabling music playback, including as in-game background music. Players can also listen to music from a USB drive, including MP3, FLAC, and AAC formats. "[/B]

Doesn't seem like we'll have ability to download files like we could in PS3 days.

"Does PS5 feature a web browser?

No, the PS5 system doesn’t include a dedicated web browser app.
Hope one comes down the line. It was convenient to have a web browser

Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season

Got my PS5. Kids are dominating it though and playing Astros playroom. My son got 30 minutes in with Godfall and had fun. I don’t see a save function in that game. Not sure how often it saves.

The haptic DS5 are cool. Really neat.

I like the UI but need to learn it. I do like a separate tab for upload/download from notifications. No folders but it rolls games up neatly. I do not like the fact it can only queue up 2 games to update at the same time. The PS4 let you do three. This is a bit annoying when I’m trying to install multiple games and kick off the patch downloads. I haven’t played NBA yet and when I check back the stupid patch was paused. My only annoyance so for. Haven’t even popped in Valhalla yet.

Logging in to the PS5 with the PS app on my phone was a breeze.
