I guess it is something companies feel comfortable with. I guess $*99.99 looks better than a $*49.99 or $*79.99. For me, it doesn't matter. Just set the reasonable price, and people will buy regardless. They shouldn't feel like their only options are taking a loss at $400 or shun some consumers at $500.

Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season
I'll probably get both system, I feel Microsoft will do a better job with their system this generation. Sony will always be king to me hard to beat their 1st party and footwork they established with gaming.
I really wish we could get a new NFL Gameday lolYoutube- https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1Y...YHoeFjXQJ2Ps4g

I don't get how it can be a superior console when we don't know the specs of the PS5Youtube- https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1Y...YHoeFjXQJ2Ps4g

Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season
I think we all kind of have our mind made up what we're doing anyways.
The price debate is fine, but something that sticks out to me after living in Japan for 4 years is that Sony and Nintendo have such a foothold in that country and Microsoft isn't cracking it. I still saw brand new baseball games for PSP on the shelf in 2014. You just don't see Microsoft products in stores and servers are extremely limited for games.
Sony is going to be fine regardless of what they do IMO. They have access to a huge consumer base that Microsoft does not in the console market. Unless something drastic changes I'm not buying another Microsoft console though so I may not be the one to listen to here and I may even be biased. It's not fanboyism as much as it is I'm just not at all concerned with what Microsoft does outside of making it better for people like me who want to play their games on PC. I really appreciate that and It's great for consumers. I don't have to own an xbox to play Halo Infinite.
Hopefully this gen we all get something we want because at the end of the day this **** is supposed to be fun and sometimes it gets too serious. If PS5 specs are under standards by a wide margin I'll just wait for a Pro version mid-cycle.. no big deal for me to wait at this point.Comment

Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season
My plan is to buy both consoles at launch. Play Xbox Series X first party titles via Game Pass as there's no reason for me to buy them anymore. Play PlayStation 5 first party titles at launch depending on what they are. Godfall is a guarantee and im expecting Ratchet & Clank 2 so im good.
Third party wise, this will be based on which console ends up being my primary. I'm expecting Series X to be more powerful and give me the best overall performance for every game but I do prefer PlayStation's dashboard and UI by far. Controller wise for me is equal as I have no issues with either. Of course, also depends on the performance difference. If the game differences on X are minimal then yeah, I will most likely just stick with PlayStation 5 as my primary unless they completely screw up their dashboard and UI.
As of now, which console will be my primary is still undecided and won't be until launch. But both are day one for sure.Comment

Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season
With Sony dropping out of PAX East and GDC because of concerns over coronavirus, makes me wonder how they will approach the rest of the year. I get the concern for staff. They pulled out of E3 and said they were going to attend many events. But, that was obviously before the outbreak. But that makes me wonder how they will approach things. I don't see the outbreak concerns going away anytime soon. So does that mean, that Sony skips out on every event. Bloomberg said how the virus wasn't affecting their production. But if they are skipping out on events in America when there are only 15 confirmed cases, than developing the console in China doesn't match up with their current actions.
Does it also mean that they would lean towards a State of Play style PS5 reveal? If they are so concerned about the virus, then a State of Play would be on their own terms and own venue. PlayStation has the brand to do an online streaming reveal and it be as effective as a live reveal, especially since the logo got over 5 million likesComment

Gamers should never be forced to purchase the same game twice or pay for upgrades. Owners of #Cyberpunk2077 for Xbox One will receive the Xbox Series X upgrade for free when available.Retro Redemption - Starting over with a oldschool PowerBone Offense

With Xbox delivering more concrete info, wonder how Sony is going to reveal things. I expect more info from Xbox before E3 so they can just focus on games for E3. But hopefully Sony releases something soon
I do like their Backwards Compatibility. Where previous games will automatically increase frame rate, performance, and frame rates.Comment

Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season
Its interesting to see when Sony will say more. Xbox we already know more of the specs then ps5, and xbox we already have seen what the system looks like when we have not seen ps5 yet. Of course there are still specs we don't know about xbox either like clock speed, ram, SSD size etc.Comment
