All I need now is for CDPR to announce Cyberpunk 2077 day one for Series X at Microsoft's E3 showcase and I will be massively hyped!!!
I would expect it to depend on each individual publisher. CDPR is such an excellent developer and has shown time and time again why they are in fact worth $8B dollars.
As for Microsoft, Xbox gamer and youtuber Rand Al Thor 19 believe that Microsoft will have an official Xbox Series X and Series S reveal event in April. He rarely mentions or says stuff like this unless he has concrete info so im fully expecting this to happen.
As for Sony, im not expecting them to show/announce anything PS5 related until after Microsoft's E3 2020 showcase. Maybe another Wired (meh) article. It seems like they don't know what they truly want to do. If anything, they should have stayed the course with Layden until after releasing PS5 and then move in the direction that they're currently going.
Similar but not exactly the same. What it's going to be will be more in line with last gen launch. For example, Ubisoft released AC 4: Black Flag in late October 2013 for PS3/360 and the released the PS4/Xbox One version respectively a few weeks later. The difference is that they were in different packaging and whatnot.
My thinking is that say for example, Cyberpunk 2077 has Ray Tracing for Series X but obviously not for Xbox One. Buy the Xbox One version in September (even though im expecting another delay) and then be able to download the full Xbox Series X version day one.
My question would be what about if you buy the disc version for Xbox One? Would they really allow us to download the Xbox Series X version digitally which could in turn, allow us to sell/trade in the Xbox One version of the game while still owning and being able to play the best version digitally?
I do believe that it will be much more than just a "patch/update".
