Gamers should never be forced to purchase the same game twice or pay for upgrades. Owners of #Cyberpunk2077 for Xbox One will receive the Xbox Series X upgrade for free when available.
All I need now is for CDPR to announce Cyberpunk 2077 day one for Series X at Microsoft's E3 showcase and I will be massively hyped!!!

With Xbox delivering more concrete info, wonder how Sony is going to reveal things. I expect more info from Xbox before E3 so they can just focus on games for E3. But hopefully Sony releases something soon
I do like their Backwards Compatibility. Where previous games will automatically increase frame rate, performance, and frame rates.
I would expect it to depend on each individual publisher. CDPR is such an excellent developer and has shown time and time again why they are in fact worth $8B dollars.

As for Microsoft, Xbox gamer and youtuber Rand Al Thor 19 believe that Microsoft will have an official Xbox Series X and Series S reveal event in April. He rarely mentions or says stuff like this unless he has concrete info so im fully expecting this to happen.

As for Sony, im not expecting them to show/announce anything PS5 related until after Microsoft's E3 2020 showcase. Maybe another Wired (meh) article. It seems like they don't know what they truly want to do. If anything, they should have stayed the course with Layden until after releasing PS5 and then move in the direction that they're currently going.

Similar but not exactly the same. What it's going to be will be more in line with last gen launch. For example, Ubisoft released AC 4: Black Flag in late October 2013 for PS3/360 and the released the PS4/Xbox One version respectively a few weeks later. The difference is that they were in different packaging and whatnot.

My thinking is that say for example, Cyberpunk 2077 has Ray Tracing for Series X but obviously not for Xbox One. Buy the Xbox One version in September (even though im expecting another delay) and then be able to download the full Xbox Series X version day one.

My question would be what about if you buy the disc version for Xbox One? Would they really allow us to download the Xbox Series X version digitally which could in turn, allow us to sell/trade in the Xbox One version of the game while still owning and being able to play the best version digitally?

I do believe that it will be much more than just a "patch/update".

I expect another Xbox wire article before E3 where they reveal the rest of console specs. I'm sure the games will be their primary focus at E3.

Besides those 2 Wire articles and Logo, we don't know anything else official about PS5. Besides the games, all Xbox has left to reveal is the rest of the specs. With Sony skipping any imminent event coming up, we are in the dark of when we will get any info.

Honestly with how 75% of my gaming is on PC and Switch (PS4 hasn't been on much at all)
even though I said release day buy (And I may cave and do that because.. weak..)
I'd be smart and just wait it out.

I prefer the PS over XBOX (Big reversal over when I was huge 360 over PS3) so I'm sure I'll be PS only again this new gen..

Bottom line is I think I have more of a "Need new tech/early adapter" disease rather than want a new console thing.

I'm buying Sony regardless of specs. So while it will be nice to hear specs of PS5, it won't affect my decision. Plus if some gamers are so focused on power and fidelity, they have to make sure they have the TV or monitor capable of running games at highest settings anyway. I bought my TV 2.5 years ago, but believe it has capability to run those types of resolution and frame rate. But I have no plans at all at upgrading for next 4-5 years.
I'm more curious about how these CPUs and SSD will transform games. So I want to hear developers go into full detail about what the powerful CPU and SSD will be capable of.

Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season

Its interesting bc the developer of Cyberpunk is worth 8 billion and they are about to release a game that's going to sell a crazy amount of copies. They can afford to give out a free update as it means people will atleast try out their game again for the ps5. They also didn't say it would be ready day 1 so it could be a few months after launch.

If your someone like Ubisoft and EA and you had planned on double dipping and you have stock holders to answer to. I'm not sure if they would change course and now give it away for free. I would still pay full price for a ps5 game and just not buy the ps4 if that means its ready to go day 1.

The specific details will be interesting and I wouldn't want to have to start over my campaign to get better graphics.

I will be getting ps5 no matter its specs. Spiderman 2, Horizon zero dawn 2 another ratchet game is enough to make a ps5 worth it and that does not even include what new ip we may get during ps5 life time. I also expect GOT to get a ps5 patch. I don't know if it will be 13 Tfops but i do think it will be higher then that 9.2 rumor. I think it will be 10-13.

I skipped the ps4 generation. Just couldnt pay more money on games, especially after seeing how many games I had that I stopped playing within a year because I got the next years game.

But I'm probably gonna cave in for ps5. Just hope games aren't like $90 or something.

Might wait until spring or fall 2021. Either in time for MLB the show or the fall game season. How much is it gonna be? Would it change in a few month span?

Games are 60 and not going to go up to 90. Now there are like collectors edition for some games but other then that or dlc added games have been 60 for a while now. Even if they went up 70 would likely be what it would go up to. The price of the system we don't known yet but a few months later the system is not going to have a price cut. If you want to pay less black friday 2021 is most likely because even if the system has not had a price cut you will likely be able to find a bundle with a extra controller or 1 free game or something.

Games are staying $60. That's really the initial buy in due to microtransactions now.

Yeah I don't see price of games rising. Microtransactions and console subscriptions(PSNow & Gamepass) are the main reason. I do see Sony stepping up PSNow to features more 1st party games and overall library. I see more publishers eventually doing subscription services like Ubisoft. They want to gamers in the ecosystem. I could even see there being a EA Sports subscription service where they charge gamers a set cost a month to have access to all their sports games. Plus with things like BackCompat and Smart Delivery, there's little incentive to charge more for games.

With the whole coronavirus concern, I can definitely see a State of Play style reveal. I doubt the virus gets under control within a month or two and I doubt they will attend any event until it does. So a online streaming reveal probably is the best route to go. After hearing some of the Xbox specs, I can definitely see that console costing $599 and likely Lockhart version. So I could see PS5 costing $499

If Sony does a State of Play video reveal meaning recorded as opposed to a live event for PS5, im going to be very disappointed and a lot of fans will be as well. When Microsoft is holding actual events and shows, Sony needs to be doing the same thing. If the roles were reversed, Microsoft would be getting a lot of hate and Sony deserves the same amount of hate.

While Series X could definitely be $600, I don't believe that it will go past $500 because it would make it dead on arrival. I see PS5 being $500 as well. The difference is that PS5 will be under the $500 mark in terms of how much the console costs with distribution, packaging, etc. while I do believe that the Series X will cost more than $600 to manufacture, etc. but I see Microsoft taking a loss on the console. Spencer isn't stupid. He's not going past $500.

                                XBOX ONE S $200
                                PS4 $200
                                PS4 PRO $300
                                XB1X $300
                                XBox Lockhart $400
                                PS5 $500
                                XSX $600

Those are the prices I expect come end of year

Xbox One X will be phased out in 2021

MS having Lockhard at $400 will allow them to sell XSX at $600 because unlike Sony, MS does not care about console sales

They will promote XSX as for the die hards who want the best of the best

They will promote Lockhart as the 3rd best console in the market after XSX and PS5 with a superior CPU to last gen

PS5 will be super happy that MS does $600 because that allows them to do $500 and make money on the console

If by a chance MS drops the hammer and does $500 then Sony will be in bad deep water because they cannot do $400 without taking a huge loss which they will not do. And releasing at $500 while XSX is also at $500 with superior specs will make a lot of their fans upset.

It will still outsell the xsx because Sony is a bigger gaming brand then MS but the sales will be a lot closer than this gen for sure

MS releasing at $600 will means it will sell a lot at first because die hards will buy it but PS5 will easily sell millions more due to the price tag.
