Ganes are around $75-80 in Canada.

    Stupid exchange rate.

$90 here would be around $70US

      PS5 $500
      XSX $600

Those are the prices I expect come end of year

Xbox One X will be phased out in 2021

MS having Lockhard at $400 will allow them to sell XSX at $600 because unlike Sony, MS does not care about console sales

They will promote XSX as for the die hards who want the best of the best

They will promote Lockhart as the 3rd best console in the market after XSX and PS5 with a superior CPU to last gen

PS5 will be super happy that MS does $600 because that allows them to do $500 and make money on the console

If by a chance MS drops the hammer and does $500 then Sony will be in bad deep water because they cannot do $400 without taking a huge loss which they will not do. And releasing at $500 while XSX is also at $500 with superior specs will make a lot of their fans upset.

It will still outsell the xsx because Sony is a bigger gaming brand then MS but the sales will be a lot closer than this gen for sure

MS releasing at $600 will means it will sell a lot at first because die hards will buy it but PS5 will easily sell millions more due to the price tag.

I know so many say Xbox One X will be phased out which makes no sense to me. If anything, the Xbox One Slim/SAD edition should be phased out and with X being $300 now and knowing the sales Microsoft tends to do holiday time, they can easily lower the price of the X to $200. Taking it off shelves just over 3 years after releasing it and it being the best current gen console, that has never made any sense to me. I would eliminate the weaker consoles, keep the best one and just lower the price.

I see PS4 Slim going to $200, PS4 Pro going to $300 but also Xbox Series S being $300 with both PS5 and Xbox Series X being $500. I simply don't see either console going past $500 no matter what.

Yeah, im aware they don't care about console sales even though they should because without selling the console first, you can't sell Game Pass/Gold subscriptions, software, etc.

Microsoft and Spencer in particular isn't looking to repeat Xbox One. I'm 100% expecting $500 and all the Xbox guys I listen to say $500 and they've been right every damn time since I started following them last year before E3. Simply, if Dealer Gaming, Timdog and Rand are saying $500. I believe them because they haven't been wrong yet and only say stuff when they know they're right.

Both being $500, I don't believe that Sony fans would be upset simply because they would see Microsoft taking a loss on the console and thus, for $500, they are getting one hell of a powerful console. Both consoles are going to be amazing.

Xbox Series X will be overall better and more powerful but that's also because Microsoft can easily absorb the losses while Sony can't. At least not at that high of a loss. The $300 Xbox Series S is going to be the wild card because of it's cheap price. Me personally, even if Series X was to be $600, Series S still isn't a consideration because im a buying a next gen console, I want the best I can get plus while the Series S would be better than Xbox One X overall, seeing 4TF of GPU power with limited HDR and no Ray Tracing makes me look at it as an in-between the current gen and next gen.

Going into next gen, I want my consoles to be next gen. Overall sales wise, I see PS5 going past the 100m mark as they're a much bigger brand worldwide and outside of NA/Europe, Xbox is dead/non-existent. Xbox can win NA though as they did with Xbox 360. Barring a disaster from one or the other, I can see it going either way 52%-48% in console sales.

As of now, im day one for Series X and most likely PS5 as well but honestly, all my hype and interest has been for Xbox since X019. They're simply hitting on all cylinders and unlike Sony, they aren't staying quiet like a mouse.

Sony or any company fans should be upset if they are paying the same price as the other console knowing they are getting an inferior product. That will be a case but brand loyalty and reputation will lead to sales but many will not be happy. That I can guarantee because is human nature.

Both being 500 will hurt some of the sales for Sony for sure. 600 for the XSX will means the ps5 will easily outsell it for ther bulk of the generation.

Also the X will be phased out because having the x as the lowest console will hurt Lockhart sales as it would not be a huge difference but it will over xbox one s

Understandable for some Sony fans to perhaps be upset if both are $500 but if you look into both consoles and you see one is literally is being sold at $100+ loss while the other isn't, that simply tells me that the PS5 at $500 is exactly where it should be and Xbox Series X is cheaper than what it's worth plus as being the brand that's playing catch up, they kind of have to make an impact next gen. Selling a superior console for the same price as your competitor would do just that.

Also, like you said, Sony does have history, brand loyalty and reputation but here's something else as well - the main reason I will eventually own a PS5 is because exclusive wise, I already know what we're getting just by looking at PS4's exclusives. People will look at it this way - best console with Series X and their first party studios or the inferior console with Sony's first party studios.

I love Ubisoft and they're my favorite developer and publisher but favoritism aside, I know that majority of Sony's first party studios as well as CDPR and Rockstar are simply superior. So in this regard, I do believe that this gives Sony an edge.

As you know, I was extremely critical of Microsoft with Xbox One because until Spencer took over and became the leader in late 2017, their direction simply wasn't for me and the vast majority of their games either was of no interest to me or disappointing. Outside of their big three, their first party studios do have prove themselves because now, they're a first party which to me carries much more pressure than being a multi-platform developer because the hardware manufacturer that owns you is counting on you to put out amazing games in order to help support the platform.

Me personally, I will always see Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft as what the standard should be for their respective consoles in regards to the quality of games available on that console. Granted, you'll have your amazing CDPR or Rockstar game but that's one every half decade. In terms of supporting a console for 5+ years, you need quality games that people want to play.

In this regard especially if you're a single player focused gamer, this is where you would choose PS5 because while being under powered and paying the same price will be disappointing, you know that you're getting superb games.

Yeah, I can understand X overshadowing Series S but to be perfectly honest, I don't even see the point or purpose of Series S. With X-Cloud, I would think that eventually on Xbox One, you would be able to just stream and play the Series X version to your Xbox One. Microsoft confirming that the first year or two will be cross-gen for them baffles me because isn't that what X-Cloud should be used for?

I know X-Cloud is for the ability to play anywhere and whatnot but I would also think that it would be used to stream Series X versions of their first party titles to Xbox One via streaming because in this case, it wouldn't matter what the hardware is since the game itself would be coming from their data centers anyway.

I'm probably missing something or just not understanding it completely but aside from the playing anywhere aspect, that's what I always believed X-Cloud would be used for. Ending Xbox One X after just say three years seems like such a waste to me.

I think it is odd that they are even doing a lockhart and don't just have the x be the low system and XSX be the next gen system. Funny how ever one is thinking they will both be 500 and that ps5 will be less powerful. We don't known that in till Sony says something and what if ps5 is 450 and XSX is 500? Or what if they are both 500 but ps5 is close in power like say 11.5 TFOPS compared to the XSX 12 not much of a difference.

A smaller feature that's coming to the ps5 that again hit me how much its needed since I only have the 500 GB ps4.

The ability to delete either the campaign or the MP from your hard drive and save the space.

I like to keep RDR installed as I will occasional play the MP. I have no plans to play the SP again for now. If this was the ps5 I could free up space to be able to install another game that I might play occasionally. The file size of a lot of the major games are around 100 GB so they add up fast so being able to delete some of that will be nice.

I do like those features. I'm typically a offline only guy and games that I normally just rent, I only play campaign once. So it would be time saving and storage space.
Plus not many has been talking about how having 100GB bluray disc can have a big effect. That's 50GB more of data that can be put on discs now. That space can either allow developers to create bigger worlds or not use as much storage on the consoles because most major games weren't fitting on the current discs

They'll still have to be completely installed, Blu-ray drives aren't getting any quicker as the onboard storage gets orders of magnitude faster.

I like breaking up games, but even with fast storage it's often been executed poorly on PC. Typically assets are heavily shared between modes, so really you're only saving on some audio and video, but many games instead of video just have in-engine cutscenes.

It can be a really nice feature, we'll see how it pans out.

Do you have any idea for PS5/Xbox about adding external hard drives, given that SSD will be key for a lot of things? Are we going to have to get external SSDs, or will it not even be possible? Maybe it'd just mean the games load slower for initial load or something?

We're probably headed back to cartridges at some point, if we're going to get away from installing games completely ever again.

That's a good point....It was so easy to add a external to this generation, but might be more limited to the internals next gen. Cartridges might be more reasonable if prices come way down on SD cards?

Another RUMOR with someone saying they will be 2 models. A base with 9 TFLOP for $400 and one for around $600 to compete with the XSX.

I saw that video. I don't buy into it. I definitely see a Pro version. But I don't see the upside in doing that unless you just want the consoles out for whole generation. There would have to be a big enough gap between base and pro model at launch to make sense like it would be with Microsoft. I would be willing to pay $600 for the pro model at launch if it was noticeably more powerful and would be most powerful of generation. But probably might be better off following same model of this gen where you wait a couple years and wait for parts to get cheaper and tech to advance.

So i guess not to much of a surprise with all that is going on and with both Sony and Microsoft having already saying they were dropping out. Also interesting because they say summer but you already have e3 close to summer. So wounder if this would be like july or later or what.

About SSD and space and games that was talked about earlier today when ever Sony talks about ps5 i hope we get info on that. There are rumors about march 3 but we will see with how many rumors there have already been with out getting news. But yeah i hope it is talked about. I have heard people talk about how the vita cards cost to much and i am wondering how this will work on ps5. Ps4 500 GB hard drive is way to small in less you only really get a system for like FIBA and COD or something. I have heard because of SSD that information will not have to be written over again, and that it should makes games some what smaller but i am sure that games will still get bigger with just 4k textures and open world games getting bigger and bigger. So even with ps4 when it came out the system cost 400 but you really did need to get a bigger hard drive that just added to the cost. I have a 2 TB hard drive in my ps4 and still got about 700 GB left. 1 TB is really about the lowest you should need and next gen i am sure you will need even more. So yeah i am worried about this. I don't want to have to spend like a extra 300-400 or something just to have even space and i known SSD cost a lot more then regular HD and with the SSD that ps5 has being a special SSD its not even just a simple replace it type of thing. So yeah we really need to get details on this ASAP.
