I agree. At the end of day it doesn't matter, it's all about preferences. I never cared for the whole console wars, worried about which is more powerful or inferior, or consoles vs. PC master race. I always stuck with what I was comfortable with and that's Sony.

Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season
I agree with GAMER 100%.
Here's why - everyone have been asking for Microsoft to give us better exclusive games for their console. With Xbox Series X, I believe that they will because WE ARE asking for that.
If you're a PlayStation fan looking to buy PlayStation 5, you should be asking for BETTER just like Xbox fans have for years.
Overall, everyone should be asking for MORE, not less. Sony should be giving us 60FPS for their first party exclusives just like Microsoft should be giving us better exclusives games.
Don't know why anyone would be against asking for BETTER regardless of the platform.Comment

It better come with more content at launch though. If we're going digital and a game gets old quick, I can't trade it in for something else.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

As for digital rentals, trades, etc... hopefully Microsoft revisits this at some point. Say what you will about the original vision for the Xbox One, but this would have been one of the things that would be standard now probably for both MS and Sony platforms (and Gamestop's business would probably be a bit healthier, pandemic aside).Comment

What people are against though, is being told how less superior their console of choice is compared to PC or other consoles and being labeled as this or that for choosing to be excited about their preferred console.
You wanna discuss how the new Xbox is better than the PS5? Then do that in the Xbox thread. You wanna discuss how the PC is superior to any console, then do that in the PC thread or create one.
None of that should be taking place in this thread though. And at one time, doing so was a violation of the TOS of this site.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season
I would be willing to go full Digitial if they did Digitial rentals. I'm more than willing to not deal with Gamefly lol. They could have it where they assign your account the digital license for the game than after the allotted time is up, just take it away so users can't keep playing it or something. I would like a 1 week or 2 week option. It would have to be reasonable to entice people. Like it could be $10 for a week or $15 for 2 weeks. That way it isn't something under $10 but still reasonable. Then if you rent it multiple times for 2 weeks, then it'll still benefit Sony/Xbox because they're still making profit off of renting from marketplace and you essentially will be paying full price after you rent it more than 3 times.Comment

I don't think anyone is against asking for a better console or for it to offer the best that it can offer.

Agreed. Apologies.
I love the vast majority of Sony's exclusives but I would be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed with them possibly only being 30FPS. 60FPS will run and play better as well as make the game look better since the image quality would be better. We had 30FPS during Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 so 15 years later to still be at 30FPS when the tech is easily capable of giving us that is disappointing to me personally.
There should be a PlayStation 5 vs Xbox Series X thread once the two consoles launch. That way, all debates and comparisons can be in that thread while the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X threads can just be about those respective platforms.Comment

Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season
Digital rentals would be a game changer for me. Like I said before, I usually buy games digitally(also store Black Friday deals) but I rent games thru Gamefly. There were months where I didn't rent a game because I was focused on another. I dont even buy used games like that. When I do, it is usually past generation games.

Didn't Sony have something like this when PS Now started? Like, you could rent a game for a few hours, a few days or a week?Comment

Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season
I swore there was there a patent within last couples months that suggests they were consider renting a game from PS Store.
If Sony wants people to go all digital. Then renting games digitally would be enticing. I would literally consider the Digitial Edition if they did that. As long as it is a reasonable price, I would rent games all the time digitally. I have high speed internet. I would love to not deal with Gamefly.
But I'll still stick with Physical.Comment

Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season
Im not sure how it would exactly work or what games would be included, but I would 100% rent every non-sports game. Sports games I play year-round so buying them makes obvious sense, but id MUCH rather just rent TLOU2 for a week at $10-$20 than own it for $60-$70. I only play single-player story games once, and I usually play them straight through without any breaks to play other games (meaning I knock out those playthroughs quickly), so that would save me so much money fast.
It does save money for those who buy these games full price to beat it within a couple days and sell it. It'll also help Sony because they still make profits off of Digital salesComment
