Bottom line is that the series x is a big time machine that I will be shocked if it is not between 500 and 600 dollars. It is the most powerful console easily and has a lot of great specs.

The game is now will MS want to release it at the same price as the disc version of the PS5

The series S model will be a great console for those not looking to spend a lot and still get superior performance to anything offered this gen.

MS has put themselves in great position to gain some customers back this gen and hopefully their first party titles coming later will be great but you know the multi plat titles will be best on xsx and play great on xss

Yeah, the tech inside the Xbox Series X is superb and you can tell that Spencer and company knew what they wanted to accomplish with Xbox Series X (and to a lesser extent, the Xbox One X) which is to give you the most power, most efficient and best place to play games especially third parties because they should all easily run far superior on Series X than PlayStation 5 which is great since 80%+ of the games I will be playing will in fact will multi-platform games.

I'm sticking with $500 for Series X even if Microsoft has to take a small loss on the console. I just don't them going past $500 after not only Xbox One but also in general for 2020. Series S will probably be $300 which is a great price for those who want the performance, still great visuals but don't own or plan to own a 4K HDR TV.

Freaking wish it was November already!!!

Re: Microsoft Reveals the New Xbox Series X, Arrives in Holiday 2020

Bottom line the specs of both ps5 and series x are amazing and well worth more then 500 or even 600 dollars. If you spec a pc with those parts you are looking at well past 1000 dollars.

I just have a sneaky feeling that we will end up like this

      XSX 599.99
      PS5 Disc $599.99
      PS5 WO/Disc $499.99
      XSS $349.99

Sony releasing 2 consoles with same specs but with drive and no drive was done to have a cheaper version compared to xsx but if you want that disc drive for blu rays and having disc as games you getting the $599.99 and if you have great internet and do not care for disc or blu ray movies you get the $499.99

        Yeah, both consoles are excellent.

I'm sticking with Series X at $500 and Series S at $300 with PlayStation 5 Digital at $500 and PlayStation 5 Disc at $600.

I was a day-one buyer of the 360 and XBO, but I’m passing this year. Between the lack of impressive launch titles, what’s sure to be a $500+ launch price, the fact that sport games this year will not accurately reflect the state of the sports world in 2020, and the increasing affordability of gaming PC tech, I’m just not feeling next-gen.

In fact, I would be surprised if the PS5/XSX launches aren’t the quietest since the early 2000s. After catching up with some close friends last weekend, I think a decent chunk of people are going to pass for now.

I'd probably hold off but my work pays half of well being purchases that includes gym membership and gaming consoles. I can't really do gyms with my time and kids and Covid so half off something that does help my well being is nice.

It's a good point but I'm looking forward to games that suspend through reboot, fast loading, etc. Figure I'm stuck inside for who knows how long (my daughter is at risk)

Call of Duty the latest $70 game (along with NBA2k21):

              Standard Edition: $59.99
              Cross-gen Bundle: $69.99
              Ultimate Edition: $89.99

There's no explicit 'next gen' SKU, just the cross-gen bundle.

Don't think the PS will be more then the XSX, I used to be one of of MS/XB fans, I don't know how anyone can be truly happy in the direction of Xbox.

Number one, Phil Spencer needs to go, IMO he has done more harm then help MS/Xbox division. No games for quite sometime time now, and I'm sorry I don't buy a $500/600 console for 3rd party games. If MS does get off to a fast start Next Gen they can be in big trouble from what I see, and please don't force feed the Gamepass thing to me, I own and I own until 2022.

They don't need to get off to a fast start, if you are in the Live/Game Pass ecosystem it's mission accomplished.

Phil Spencer needs to go? Lmao. The guy turned Xbox around. The exclusive games will come. None of the consoles have anything amazing at launch. This is the first time I’ve ever heard anyone say Phil must go. It’s a first day for me. Consoles rarely come out with a ton of great games from jump. Xbox is in a great position actually. They have game pass which will have a ton of games to play and all the 3rd party games will look and run better. It’s a no brainer for me

If nobody bought consoles for third party then gaming would be boring and limited to 5 games in 6 years.

3rd party games are the most played and make the most money for each console. Exclusives bridge the gap between 3rd party games.

I have not played a Sony exclusive that I felt like playing after beating it in a week or two. Zero replay value to me

Most people that buy PS4 and XBOX ONE are people that spend most of their gaming time on Madden, 2K, COD, BF, GTA

When those games will be better on XSX it gives gamers a huge reason to buy the console

Most console gamers do not have a rig as strong as XSX

At this point, I believe that both companies want to be at $600 as both consoles are at a higher cost for Sony/Microsoft. If Microsoft reveals their price first (they won't be), they will be at $300 and $600. Sony WILL match at $600 with the Digital Edition being at $500. If Sony reveals their price first (they will be), they will be at $500 and $600 because they don't want to take a loss on the Disc based console which is actually more expensive than Xbox Series X.

People don't realize that the SSD Sony has with the cooling system and liquid metal cooling solution is more money than the rest of the console combined. It's insane. Jeff Grubb mentioned this on the BRAP Podcast a few weeks. I personally wasn't surprised because you can just see it. Sony went overkill on the SSD which is going to screw them over in a few aspects.

Once I saw Cerny's presentation, my decision was made to go with XBOX SERIES X. Everyone here knows how critical I was of Microsoft and Xbox One but since Spencer took over in late 2017, he's done an amazing job. He still has a ways to go but it's not easy cleaning up the 5 year disaster that Mattrick and Myerson left him.

Funny thing is that once I get Xbox Series X, it will be the third generation in a row that I go with the "other" platform as my primary gaming console. For the last three generations, I have wanted to stay with what I was with the previous generation and that company (Sony with PS3 after PS2, Microsoft with Xbox One after Xbox 360 and Sony with PS5 after PS4) is the reason why I went to the other platform.

Since Spencer became "the man" in late 2017 (he only reports to Satya Nadella and Amy Hood) for the Xbox division (he was behind Myerson, Mattrick and whoever else was there), he's added first party exclusives to Game Pass which is freaking HUGE because that's how you get people to pay for a subscription service.

Game Pass has over 200 games. PS Now has around 800 games or some crap but yet, Game Pass has over 12m subscribers while PS Now is around 2m or so. Sony even messed up their numbers between a few months ago and after September 30th, 2019.

Since E3 2018, Spencer has acquired 7 development studios (Ninja Theory, Obsidian, InXile, Undead Labs, Playground Games, Compulsion and Double Fine) and built 2 from the ground up (The Initiative and World's Edge).

If Spencer never became "the man", Xbox would be dead right now because Myerson wanted to shutdown the entire division because he had zero interest in gaming. Spencer actually loves gaming and actually gives a damn about the division. Is he perfect? No but nobody is perfect and Sony is far from it too.

No games??? WTF? Gears 5, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Bleeding Edge, Minecraft Dungeons, Grounded, Battletoads, Flight Simulator 2020, Gears Tactics, Tell Me Why and while it's a multi-platform game, Wasteland 3 which would not be highly acclaimed by critics and gamers if it wasn't for Microsoft acquiring them in late 2018.

As for NOT buying a console for third party games, hmmmm, that's what EVERYONE does even the hardcore fanboys because they aren't going to play only exclusives as you would be lucky to get one a year that actually appeals to you.

Outside of Spider Man: Miles Morales, what does Sony have at launch? NOTHING except third party games which I can guarantee more people will be playing COD, Valhalla, Cyberpunk, etc. on PS5 than Miles Morales. Once people play through Miles in around 20 hours and im being generous, what will they be playing on PS5 until Ratchet?

And that's ONLY if they actually care about Miles and/or Ratchet. What if they don't? Oh wait, they're going to play Bugsnax!!! LMAO.

Is the Halo Infinite delay disappointing? Sure but it doesn't matter. Subtract Miles and all four SKU's will be sold out for November and December at the very least and possibly into the Spring.

I have 10 games for next gen launch. 1 exclusive for PS5 (Miles) and 2 for XSX (Gears Tactics and Ori 2). Even if both XSX games aren't ready day one, I have 7 multi-platform games for November/December. COD is NOT in that 7 game list. So imagine all the people who will buy COD day one, they won't be playing Miles or Bugsnax. They'll be playing COD.

We had a great look into the future of Xbox Game Studios over the last year - Fable, State of Decay 3, Evowed, Halo Infinite, Hellblade 2, Everwild and Forza Motorsport.

That does NOT include The Initiative's game, Forza Horizon (5), Gears 6, Gears Tactics/Flight Simulator 2020 which are coming to XSX, Compulsion's next gen title, the eventual Outer Worlds 2, InXile's next gen AAA RPG, Obsidian's smaller next gen title which is said to be a Diablo overhead type game, Project Mara from Ninja Theory, Psychonauts 2, more Minecraft stuff, Age of Empires IV in 2021 and other stuff from Global Publishing.

To say that Spencer has done more harm than good is factually wrong and borderline delusional.

People need to realize that these new company purchases take a lot of time to deliver games. Phil has done a ton to fix the issue, but the fruits of that labor will be seen more in the early Series X era, vs. right now. You can't buy a company and expect them to have a game immediately.
