Xbox One X saw a huge spike in Amazon sales today and costing $600

People are buying it thinking is series X? WOW

Or maybe bots got them which would be awesome if they thought it was series X
When the name of the console was announced I predicted this may happen.

Benji-Sales already addressed that issue and it's nowhere near the big deal that websites are making it out to be. It's Xbox. Everything gets blown out of proportion or is this or that because it's not Sony doing it.

Xbox One X is no longer manufactured. People BUYING REFURBISHED Xbox One X consoles on Amazon should probably tell them something but if not, that's on them.

Grats to those that got one cause I wasn't able to land one. Was at work and took a late break and meant to go about 5 till but that didn't happen. Went to break at 11 then logged onto work computer and Gamestop was blocked. Logged onto my phone and was able to get one in my cart but signing in took forever, by the time I did there weren't anymore. Had tried Amazon and they weren't even showing any for pre-order for awhile. Hopefully there will be more Pre-orders

So what led to all those people purchasing the wrong one if the terrible naming convention used wasn’t the culprit?

I got lucky today; or maybe I didn't.

I had a meeting with a client at 11. Ouch. I had planned to leave a friend my credit card details to try and order me one since he's still working from home. I backed out at the last minute since I don't have a 4k TV yet, I figured I'd just wait it out a bit.

My meeting was starting late, so I checked both with MS and Best Buy quickly on my phone right at 11; both websites wouldn't load! So I said oh well; I guess it's not meant to be.

As I left my meeting at around 1pm I refreshed the MS site - Sold Out. I checked Best Buy and I could still pre-order! In hindsight I should have pulled over and order it on the side of the road, but instead I drove home first. Pulled out the laptop & could still pre-order, so I said Maybe it IS meant to be and got my pre-order in.

I guess it just depends now if I'll actually get it on time. Hopefully that's the case. Certainly was shocked to see it still available that late in the day. Hopefully it's not an error and I actually get one eventually lol

MS discontinued the X a while back, you cannot find them anywhere in retail.

Those sales if accurate are small and not going to MS because it is all Third Party sellers who already bought it from retail and MS made their money. Is like buying on CL or Ebay

The amount of Xbox One X in the wild are minute at this point and this spike has everything to do with BOTS not gamers ordering from NOT AMazon, but a seller on AMazon that list it as discontinued and at a higher price.

If someone bought it because the letter X f rom a third party seller for higher amount even though it says discontinued and your email says delivered in 3 days that is on them but that would be a real small amount since there is no x being made for months or even avaiable.

Since I've seen this reported on a bit:

                        1. 747% refers to the sales rank increase, not the increase in actual unit sales. Amazon is weird like that.

                        2. The console has been discontinued and has 'discontinued' in its name.

                        3. The name may confuse some, but it's a minor issue

It would definitely be more confusing if the unit wasn't discontinued and still had units shipping to stores, but MS was quick to discontinue it before preorders started to open

And again, this isn't a 747% increase in units like everyone is reporting, it's sales rank difference

I was able to get one. I doubt i'll keep it though. Have two PS5's preordered. Selling one of those and if demand is there i'll sell the Series X. The price of that thing is the price of PC Upgrades i'm planning on black friday.

Got the PS5 during the second wave at Walmart. Said I wasn't going to stress over the Xbox so if I didn't get it then I would just wait... Got lucky when Amazon finally went live and was able to snag me a Series X! November can't come soon enough!

Actually, it seems that it may have been BOT's that bought all those consoles because the scripts were screwed up. LOL. If true, that would be freaking hilarious.
