PS5 would just be for exclusives.

Re: Microsoft buys Bethesda for 7.5 billion
I just have a feeling that why would MS pimp this news if they were putting the games on Playstation as well. It would be to the gamer irrelevant because it was like that before MS bought them.
This is only big news to MS gamers if they know that they will get the game on their console and not be available to the competitionComment

Re: Microsoft buys Bethesda for 7.5 billion
Jez Corden from Windows Central tweeted the following
RE: Bethesda games with Xbox exclusivity.
This is what I personally currently believe:
The Elder Scrolls Online, Fallout 76, etc, will see new expansions on PlayStation 5 and continued support.
The Elder Scrolls VI and Fallout 5, Wolf III, DOOM III, etc, will be Xbox/PC only.Comment

Re: Microsoft buys Bethesda for 7.5 billion
Phil Spencer said that they would honor the exclusive deal PS5 had with Deathloop but going forward the games will be on game pass day 1 and pc as well as other consoles on a case by case basis
You can read into that what he is saying
" We have no issues putting it on Playstation but not day 1"
What about Ghostwire Tokyo? Thought that was a one year timed exclusive as well? Honestly, I like but don't love Bethesda. Sometimes they're awesome for me and other times, not so much.
In general, this is a "HOLY ****" moment and a true paradigm shift for Xbox and the industry as a whole.
And all games day freaking one on Game Pass. Yeah, would much rather see Microsoft acquire studios or entire gaming companies (lol) as opposed to wasting money on timed exclusive garbage.
I will be at GameStop tomorrow morning early to pre-order the Xbox Series X!!!Comment

Not really a huge fan of these games but I'm glad Xbox got a studio worth getting. It keeps the competition driving.Youtube- https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1Y...YHoeFjXQJ2Ps4g

Re: Microsoft buys Bethesda for 7.5 billion
Big get for Microsoft. Just to compare, Microsoft purchased Mojang for $2.5 billion 6 years ago, Disney purchased Star Wars license for $4 billion 8 years ago.
Tomorrow, PSVR gamers get a free bone thrown to them with Minecraft getting the VR treatment. I believe Microsoft's grand plan is to deliver Bethesda games as multiplats, especially with that price tag. New IPs will and should be treated differently.Comment

At first I was shocked. I'll be pissed if The Elder Scrolls VI and Fallout 5 aren't on PS5. But then I remembered all the bad stuff about Bethesda. So have fun with that guy I guess.Comment

Re: Microsoft buys Bethesda for 7.5 billion
Aside from the obvious stuff (Sonic!). Sega owns Atlus, Relic and some other developers. That'd include Company of Heroes, Homeworld, Warhammer 40k Dawn of War, Persona, Total War franchises.
A ton of old IP. Lots of content. They're part of a huge company already though, hard to imagine a deal for Sega to MS. A deal for Zenimax seemed improbable too though.
The short answer: content. Lots of content.Comment

Re: Microsoft buys Bethesda for 7.5 billion
The Japanese market maybe idk.
Wait I also forgot it also gets them the rights to Alpha Protocol. I remember reading a few years ago that Obsidian wanted to make a sequel to Alpha Protocol but couldn't because Sega owns the rights.
If it's true Xbox fans are lucky. A possible Obsidian Fallout game, and an Alpha Protocol sequel.
Sony is like a team with a good farm system they don't have to go out and buy themselves another publisher most of their exclusives are from Sony first party studios that homegrown talent. Microsoft is becoming the New York Yankees. They got a big pocketbook and are ready to spend. But money can't buy you championships. This could all Flop. Remember Bethesda's last game Fallout 76 was not good.
