Yea he knows his stuff and always throws little jokes in his videos. And you’re correct on what he suggested and he shows why. He’s also correct because I have an oled and on the PS4 pro I used to set up the black levels where the sun was barely noticeable and it used to raise the black levels a bit. With OLEDs you get perfect blacks and don’t need any raised blacks so adjusting the sun where you can’t see is correct.

My takeaway from the HDR video is I should just turn it off. My cheap TV only puts out about 300 nits.

Yea if your TV only has 300 nits that tv isn’t worth using HDR as it’s most likely an 8 bit panel which isn’t true wide color for HDR. The brightness is way too low as well.

Yeah, my own eyes and various readings told me I wasn't getting the full effect. This video drives that point home. It's a Samsung nu6900, so you get what you pay for... And I knew what I was getting and I'm fine with it. [emoji41]

Is it worth investing in a PS5 controller for PS4 or PC, even if it can't take advantage of the adaptive triggers and such? Is it even compatible with these systems?

Tbh i never understood why they suggest to set it until it's barely visible, because there's obviously evidence that suggests doing that doesn't allow for the maximum possible range.

PS5 controller is not compatible with the PS4 unless it is in 2nd screen play or something random like that.

Works on the Switch and PC from what I've seen.

I use the Dualshock Windows app for my DS4 on PC, but even after you clear that hurdle it can be tough to get used to if it's a game with on-screen prompts.

Example: Madden 21 will show you a receiver that's the X, A, RB, etc. but on the Dualshock the X button obviously isn't the same button. A lot of games are like that so I think if you don't mind xbox controllers it's an easier route.

Also Dualsense controller does not work with the PS4.

So now there’s a bunch of reports saying the COD Cold War is bricking ps5 consoles. It started with the Xbox series x whej ray tracing was enabled and now it’s happening with the ps5. What on earth are these devs doing? Do they not test these games before they release them?
