I've listened to rap for a long time and sure I know about Top Billin', the song gets bit alot, as a matter of fact it was just done again by AZ on his new album. Ghostface is one of my favorite rappers, so please dude.....stop making assumptions.

There's a reason why people don't get on other emcees for biting like they do with Jay because he bites WAY MORE THAN OTHER RAPPERS. Also, these people who are biting in XXL are insignificant rappers. They aren't claiming to be the best rapper alive, best of all-time, etc. Do me a favor if "so many other emcees bite", then for just ONE other rapper, come up with 72 lines they bit. That Word document I got is 6 pages long and there's about a dozen lines per page. I'm not asking you to do that for any legend, or 10 rappers, just one. Find me one other rapper who's done that. And the part where you're wrong is that Jay only bites from well known rappers and songs. That's total BS. That's why most mainstream fans don't think he bites alot.

And you're statement that he flips every line better than the original is just a patheticly blind opinion. Clearly you can't be told any different than Jay is "the god mc". Once I read you're "Jay was hot on The Originators" I'd seen enough. I've dealt with enough Jay freaks over the years. Jay can do no wrong, every track he spits out is classic. Almost has bad as Eminem jockriders.

"Wipe the sweat of my dome, spit the phlegme on the street, suede timbs on my feet makes my cypher complete."

How is that "total ownage"? Because it's his own sneaker? Hahaha, wtf is THAT? So he owns a business, therefore that makes him a better rapper? Get real dude. Wipe that Jay-Z manjuice outta your ear.

cuz i think hes the best mc , i have manjuice on my ear ... calm down dude its just music....jay has done plenty wrong , vol.2 sucks @ss just like his rkelly albums , vol 3 is mediocre , as is the dynasty . ....i just dont think hes a bitter . if mainstream fans are so ignorant that they dont know where the lines that hes paying homage on come from how is that his fault. his music with original flavor showed potential imho , is that what ur talking about the originators? anyways ,my bad for calling u an ignorant ***** , i hate name calling or ish talking on boards. we just have different opinions.

You know what I love about music arguments:

When one guy has no possible comeback to what the other guy said, so he calls his opponent "ignorant" and a "*****" and acts like he won the argument.

      To me, that's always classic.

That's why I'll never have total respect for Jigga, I can't mention him as one of the greatest emcees. Too much biting, that and the pathetic start of his career, trying anything that was commericially hot at the moment to get his name known.

I wonder how many Jay-Z dickriders have heard tracks like The Originators. Dude just seems as fake as they come to me.
Amen to that dude...At least I know I'm not the only one that feels that way now.

But for real...what's up with everyone giving Paul Wall props?

Heck, the main reason I haven't bought, nor do I intend to buy the Kanye albums is because of Paul Wall and Cam'Ron....and because I think Kanye's a puppet of Jay-Z who only pulls a concious MC act because he knows Jigga has the industry in his pocket.

Do you know that the name Jay-Z comes from a combination of Jaz-O (Original Flavor) & the J-Z sub that connects Brooklyn to Manhattan? Jigga did that to pay homage. He has his own way of giving props to those he respects. It's alot better than mentioniong thier name all the time *cough*The Game*cough*. Plus, I mean that's his style. Now everyone is copying what Jay does. Read an issue of XXL Mag. Look at the borrowed lines section ... 9/10 times you're going to see someone "bite" Jay-Z. (I already know you commented on that, but you need to read that again)

I consider a biter someone who lacks creativity because he/she can't make their own ish, but Jay-Z is the complete opposite. I just wanted to let you in on that because you sh*ittin on Hov, but you're not being understanding.

It's like when a dude blows up, all this flack comes out of nowhere. There's no bitten lines in Reasonable Doubt. There's also no bitten lines in all of the songs he wrote for other artists. Heck Jay-Z even wrote a song for Nas. (That was actually recoreded) So it's not like Jay lacks anything lyrically.

AGREED ...like the article states , its not like anyone state his best lines are the ones that hes paying homage on .anyways , u and i arent going to change anyones mind . i post at gamespot(a dope rap board ,with knowledgable rap fans ) and ive gotten into the same tired arguments over their.

Ok, so if Jay is just "paying homage" to these guys, why is he riding their ***** so hard? If he is the GOAT, then why does he have to bite, oh excuse me, "pay homage" all the time?

Ehh, hook us up with that Word Document, please.

who does he ride that hard, the only one i would say he rides hard is big.... . my interpretation of him paying homage is that hes just letting who ever hes is paying homage to know that what they spit was a dope line . however you feel otherwise and u are obviously free to do so . sure he has 6 pages of "paying homage" , but i can sit here for days and list jay quotables .
jay is that dude . he does it for me , which is why i call him the greatest. anyways , everyone is obvious different and has different taste , so the god mc is different for everybody and thats cool. like what you like . i really dont give a rats @ss what ppl think about my opinion. just like y'all ,(i dont know why u would care ) dont either . anyways peace , ive had this same discussion with good friends and we just always end up agreeing to disagree.

Try listening to some more Paul Wall rather than just Sittin' Sidewayz and Still Tippin'. If you see his mixtape songs, he's not that bad, he's actually rather good (if you listen with the intent of hearing "southern"-ish music).

And about not buying Kanye's album because of Paul Wall and Cam'ron, they spit two of the hottest verses on the whole album. If you hate them that much, just skip those songs but hey, if you don't buy it, you missing a great album.

See, you have a lack of understanding my friend.

There's about 30-40 "bitten" lines throughout all of Jay-Z's songs while he's made over 300 songs and written over 10 for other people. So it's not like it's "all the time". Plus it's anyone's say to think Jay or anyone else rides someone's ***** so hard. He said on the Black Album that when he says a B.I.G. verse, he's only biggin up his brother. I've heard the "Im a Biter Song" and read the "bitten" lines doc, and it just seems like those people are just haters. I respect Jay for having his own style and not being some industry created rapper like most guys are, but you guys don't respect that and would rather let him be a carbon-copy of your favorite rapper.

I already said what I know, so I'm not going to bother repeating myself over and over.

And about not buying Kanye's album because of Paul Wall and Cam'ron, they spit two of the hottest verses on the whole album. If you hate them that much, just skip those songs but hey, if you don't buy it, you missing a great album.
I agree. Rappers are scared to be themselves because of close minded Hip-Hop fans. Sometimes it makes me wonder if all of these underground artists or political rappers are actually saying what's on their mind or what's on the mind of their critics.
