You know what I love about music arguments:

Re: Official OS Rap appreciation Topic!
Originally posted by ehhExactly, I have a six page MS Word document of all his stolen lines. Most from BIG, some from others. Also a few are a stretch but most are blatant. If anyone wants it I'll post it. I think half the reason most Jay fans don't realize how much he bites is because he bits artists who aren't mainstream, and tracks/lines that Jay fans never would hear.
That's why I'll never have total respect for Jigga, I can't mention him as one of the greatest emcees. Too much biting, that and the pathetic start of his career, trying anything that was commericially hot at the moment to get his name known.
I wonder how many Jay-Z dickriders have heard tracks like The Originators. Dude just seems as fake as they come to me.
But for real...what's up with everyone giving Paul Wall props?
Heck, the main reason I haven't bought, nor do I intend to buy the Kanye albums is because of Paul Wall and Cam'Ron....and because I think Kanye's a puppet of Jay-Z who only pulls a concious MC act because he knows Jigga has the industry in his pocket.Orioles-Ravens-Wizards-Capitals

Re: Official OS Rap appreciation Topic!
Originally posted by ehhLMAO at paying homage, when in the **** did biting become synonymous with paying homage? Does Nas bite a Rakim line five times an album? NO. Does Cormega bite a Kool G. Rap line in every other track? NO. Sure, every rapper has borrowed a verse or bar here and there. NONE have done it as much as Jay. I've listened to rap for a long time and sure I know about Top Billin', the song gets bit alot, as a matter of fact it was just done again by AZ on his new album. Ghostface is one of my favorite rappers, so please dude.....stop making assumptions.
There's a reason why people don't get on other emcees for biting like they do with Jay because he bites WAY MORE THAN OTHER RAPPERS. Also, these people who are biting in XXL are insignificant rappers. They aren't claiming to be the best rapper alive, best of all-time, etc. Do me a favor if "so many other emcees bite", then for just ONE other rapper, come up with 72 lines they bit. That Word document I got is 6 pages long and there's about a dozen lines per page. I'm not asking you to do that for any legend, or 10 rappers, just one. Find me one other rapper who's done that. And the part where you're wrong is that Jay only bites from well known rappers and songs. That's total BS. That's why most mainstream fans don't think he bites alot.
And you're statement that he flips every line better than the original is just a patheticly blind opinion. Clearly you can't be told any different than Jay is "the god mc". Once I read you're "Jay was hot on The Originators" I'd seen enough. I've dealt with enough Jay freaks over the years. Jay can do no wrong, every track he spits out is classic. Almost has bad as Eminem jockriders.
"S.dot's on my feet make my cypher complete."
"Wipe the sweat of my dome, spit the phlegme on the street, suede timbs on my feet makes my cypher complete."
How is that "total ownage"? Because it's his own sneaker? Hahaha, wtf is THAT? So he owns a business, therefore that makes him a better rapper? Get real dude. Wipe that Jay-Z manjuice outta your ear.
"If I don't like it, I don't like it.....it don't mean that I'm hatin'." - Common
<---------- Thinks Jay-Z is mad overrated. And I'm not hatin'.
I consider a biter someone who lacks creativity because he/she can't make their own ish, but Jay-Z is the complete opposite. I just wanted to let you in on that because you sh*ittin on Hov, but you're not being understanding.
It's like when a dude blows up, all this flack comes out of nowhere. There's no bitten lines in Reasonable Doubt. There's also no bitten lines in all of the songs he wrote for other artists. Heck Jay-Z even wrote a song for Nas. (That was actually recoreded) So it's not like Jay lacks anything lyrically.Last edited by ludacris06; 09-15-2005, 04:27 PM.Comment

Re: Official OS Rap appreciation Topic!
Ok, so if Jay is just "paying homage" to these guys, why is he riding their ***** so hard? If he is the GOAT, then why does he have to bite, oh excuse me, "pay homage" all the time?
Ehh, hook us up with that Word Document, please.Comment

How is jay-z stealing lines from other people any different from if another rapper did it? He's copying because he's so much more creative than every one else? And about not buying Kanye's album because of Paul Wall and Cam'ron, they spit two of the hottest verses on the whole album. If you hate them that much, just skip those songs but hey, if you don't buy it, you missing a great album.Comment

There's about 30-40 "bitten" lines throughout all of Jay-Z's songs while he's made over 300 songs and written over 10 for other people. So it's not like it's "all the time". Plus it's anyone's say to think Jay or anyone else rides someone's ***** so hard. He said on the Black Album that when he says a B.I.G. verse, he's only biggin up his brother. I've heard the "Im a Biter Song" and read the "bitten" lines doc, and it just seems like those people are just haters. I respect Jay for having his own style and not being some industry created rapper like most guys are, but you guys don't respect that and would rather let him be a carbon-copy of your favorite rapper.
I already said what I know, so I'm not going to bother repeating myself over and over.Comment
