Re: HDTV Questions and Answers Thread

I bought an HDMI, 2 digital coax, 2 component, and a fiber optic cable from www.monoprice.com all for about $35 shipped. I have been VERY happy with the quality of the cables. I have seen on a/v forums where some of the guys have tested these cables against Monster, and noticed no difference at all.Originally posted by abates21happy with the quality?Jesus saves

www.cablesforless.com - excellent heavily shielded cables and i got my 6 foot HDMI (with gold inputs) for like $15 I believe. Plus they process and ship your order very quickly. I've used them 3 times now and it's my main hookup for cables everytime I need them.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

The Sony 34" XBR is still the best CRT tube on the market, but this one is close.Originally posted by abates21widely regarded as one of the best, if not the best, HD CRT on the marketComment

Re: HDTV Questions and Answers Thread

 Hey guys

Looking for a 26" or 32" hdtv and have been specifically looking at the samsung/LG lcd. My question is....I don't need a flat panel (lcd), but I love the picture quality. Is there a way to get the same picture quality of the lcd in a different form (i.e. rear projection, etc?) that might be a bit cheaper...or is lcd my best bet?

 thanks!

p.s. I searched through this thread for awhile and didn't find what I was looking for...Comment

For that size, the Sammy 26" LCD is top notch.Originally posted by davepHey guys

Re: HDTV Questions and Answers Thread

Technically I'd say no.....LCD and Plasma are up there. Unless you wanted to go for a CRT (old style tube sets which have some HD models).Originally posted by davepthanks, but can I get the same quality in a different form? so it would be cheaper? or does lcd have the best quality next to plasma?

Depends on how you like the picture on projection (LCD proj. or DLP). I would go into a huge showroom and just look at them all for yourself. All the internet research is nothing compared to what your eyes will tell you.

 Good luck!Comment

Re: HDTV Questions and Answers Thread

Oy. I picked this set up at Circuit City yesterday. In the top left of the screen, the text in games or on my DTV Guide for example, is blurry and has like a red outline behind it. The rest of the screen is sharp and crystal clear.Originally posted by abates21widely regarded as one of the best, if not the best, HD CRT on the market

There's also a geometry problem on the bottom left, on something with a ticker it gets cut off on the bottom left, makes it look like it slopes from the right side to the left. I can tell on the DTV Guide too, because there's more empty space on the bottom right than bottom left.Comment
