Re: What is the difference between HDTV and EDTV

You like Dish better than D*TV Heelfan? I couldn't stand the boring lineup. Maybe they've changed over the past 2 years.

I have never owned Dish, But I think the channels are almost identical.

There is a directv installer at my brothers house now that said he doesn't need a set top box. He said all he needed is a multi switch box. We have the same tv. If this is true, then D*tv has been ripping people off.

The multiswitch will take the lines from the dish and allow those to be run to receivers. You bro may not need a set top box if he bought a TV with a built in DirecTV receiver. Some TV manufacturer have them built in.

Somewhere, in order to receive DirecTV programming, he will need a card. If he doesnt have a built in receiver in his TV, then YES he does need a set top box.
