Re: Another HDTV questions info thread

What do you guys think about this TV. It's the Sony 42" LCD. My dad has the 50" and it is awesome. I like the DLP's but I'm just not convinced about them. Plus the 43" Sammy is $3000, versus the $2500 for the Sony.

    I mean...I guess I can't really go wrong with either one...right?

yep, mine (Samsung T160) puts the local channels into the on screen guide along with the other DTV channels. You will need an antenna though for locals. I got mine at Radio Shack for $50 and hung it in the attic.

I've had the 50" since March and I love it. I think the bulb problem has been taken care of. (knock on wood). I like the quality of DVDs and HD games on the TV. HD programming looks great. Regular cable is ok. It's not great, but not horrible either. My digital signals (HBO & Showtime) look a lot better than the analog stuff. Good luck with the decision.

yep, I didn't want an ugly antenna on our house so it's in the attic.

hmmm, that's an idea and then just run it down the wall. Can the antena sit behind the TV?? I have an area that is very concealed, can I have the antenna set up behind the TV or will the insulation cause problems?
