I've been watching the HD channels all day since yesterday and the only shows that I have noticed were in true HD were Leno, the Miami/FLA game and the LSU game that is on now.
The Wisconsin game on ESPN HD doesn't look any different than a regular game. Whats up with that?My Fan Page http://theusualgamer.net/MyFanPage_Heelfan71.aspx

Originally posted by Heelfan71As far a picture quality goes, tube tvs (like the sony you want) are still have the best overall picture. ANother thing about the SOny you linked: it has an HD tuner built in. That is fine, but you won't need that if you get or eventually get Satellite or Cable HD channels. The Satellite box and cable box (if you go that route) have the tuners built in the box so you won't be using the one in the tv at all. I think they have the same tv without the tuner (it should say "hd ready") and it would save you some $$$$.
Also, I know you don't want projection, but check out the new DLP tvs. They are not as big and bulky as older projection tv's and the picture is amazing. I would just go to the store and look at some and see if you like the picture.Comment

Originally posted by CWood2Thanks Heelfan, I'll definitely do that. I want a TV that accepts 1080i and 720p, especially with Gran Turismo 4 including those options and the new consoles coming out in a few years...so I'm glad you think that TV's a good one. BTW, not that it would be in my budget, but when will we see 1080p come to the forefront...will PS3 be including something like this or will the HD interlace be the best you can get?Redskins Fan. Re: Another HDTV questions info thread
Anyone getting ESPN 2 HD yet? I know Direct TV signed a contract with them but so far have not added it to it's programming. Disappointing....The true fan always know his bounds, unlike the wagon-jumping hounds,
Who never feel the slightest shame for changing hats from game to game.
The players come and then they go, but one thing for certain that I know,
With purple hearts we take a stand.... for loyal is the Viking Fan.Comment
