Not worth it for 2" IMO. HD Tube has equal if not better picture quality than HD LCD.

Tube is the best PQ you can get still. Although the newer technologies are catching up.

Hey guys. Im really low on money so the TV's I can afford aren't all that great, but I was wondering if you could tell me how good of a TV this was. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=5058444
I don't like the Yankees, I like the Red Sox, I don't like the Lakers, I like the Celtics, I hate the Canadiens and I love the Bruins. Soccer is the best sport on Earth, but most Americans are too ignorant to realize it. I am American.

I've never heard of it but there are tons of different makers out there. I just got a 32" LG TV on sale for $989 Canadian and its great. The 32" Sammy was what I was hoping to get but its too pricey. Go to circuitcity.com to see user reviews on many TVs and check reviews on cnet.com as well. Just wait until after Christmas or before the Superbowl and hop on a great deal on a more well known product like Sharp, Samsung, Panasonic, LG or Sony. Watch the fliers for the major stores like Best Buy and wait for a good deal. The internet TV dealers have very low prices so compare those prices to the Big Box stores to determine what kind of deal you are getting (or just buy online if you trust it - go to Nextag or Bizrate as an example). If you don't have the money right now, wait. Don't blow it on a bad TV. LCD prices are expected to drop another 25% over the course of 2007. Just my two cents.

If you're hurting for money don't get an LCD, get a CRT or Rear projection. You can get much better for much less. Of course a CRT or Rear Projection won't hang on the wall so if that's your goal then you have to get an LCD. But otherwise the LCD is a bad decision for someone low on money.

Agreed. If you don't have to have flat panel, CRT or RP is the most bang for the buck.

Wow. Just got the Mitsubishi WD-52631 (1080p DLP) hooked up...

The QAM tuner in it managed to pull ABC, NBC, CBS, and FOX in all of their digital (HD in primetime) glory. The HD looks absolutely beautiful, and the SD has surprised me with how good it looks. And the 360... speechless. Looks so much better than on the HD 30" Sony tube in my bedroom.

I notice some bluring when the camera moves players are certain things will blur briefly. In 2k hoops when you pass the ball around the players will seem to blur when the camera moves, or in madden backgrounds look great when camera is still but blur when there is moving. even though the screen is prettier now I didn't seem to notice on stand tv. Maybe I just have too high of expectations though. Anybody else expierence this
I noticed the same thing on my TV. I think our older smaller CRT tubes helped hide the fact we just couldn't tell. LCD TV's do have a higher refresh rate than the automatic CRT so that could be the issue. However, NCAA has a poor framerate at times so I think the game itself may be causing some of this. Its not something I notice when watching a real football game. The Sammy's were designed with MS for gaming too and it should even have a game mode to speed up the processor. Which version do you have? The 3251 has great reviews while the older 3241 model didn't get such great reviews. They have a newer one out that's even better but all of them have a 8 ms refresh rate I think.

                    Plasma or LCD TV??

Guys, I'm going to be honest. I really don't know much about these. I just know I am going to purchase one after Christmas.

What are the positives/negatives of each? Is there one I should stay away from? I have a LCD computer monitor that I like a lot, so that had me leaning towards LCD. Would that be stupid?

                    Thanks in advance.

DLP. Best bang for your buck IMO. But I'm biased as a DLP is what I have.

Although plasma's are going down in price. It's all a matter of opinion/taste and not all LCD's and/or DLP's are the same. However, I'd get a Plasma, then a DLP then an LCD.

I'm taking a shot in the dark, but I think that my dad has been looking at Mitsubishi DLP's. Without asking him and such, does anybody know how good these are?

I just purchased the 52", and absolutely love it. Look back a couple of posts and youll see a quasi-review of it. The picture is phenomenal on HD, servicable on SD, and awesome on DVD as well. Viewing angle is also better than I expected. It doesnt really start to fade out until you get way off to the side. I would definately recommend the Mitsubishi DLP's.

ESPN should be in HD. SD just doesn't look great on an HDTV, but you get used to it.

Those Mitsubishi DLP's are nice. I almost got one, but when with a Samsung DLP for a spiteful reason. Basically, I had a job interview after I graduated from college with Mitsubishi Electronic and didn't get the job so I chose not to buy the TV. It would've been a cool job though...network engineer at one of their plants that makes stadium jumbotrons.
