Re: HDTV Questions and Answers Thread
So I think I'm going to purchase an HDTV in the near future. Does anyone know of any current no interest and/or no financing deals going on right now? I'm checking the web, but I'd prefer not to buy online."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Quick noob question(s): I have a Sharp Aquos LCD. Can I use my PS2 on it? Also, I have a Panasonic 50" plasma (model TH50PX60U). Does anybody else have this set and can share positive/negative experiences?Comment

Yes, you can connect your PS2 to the Sharp Aquos. You should be able to hook it up directly to the TV.Comment

Not so much TV related, but HD. Anybody have issues with NBC HD? We finally got it in our area a few months ago and it looks great, except when football comes on. Normally, right before the start of a play or between plays everything looks really good, then it goes to "blur" vision when a play starts where image quality on the players degrades significantly. I've watched other shows on NBC with no problem, but come football time all hell breaks loose. None of my other HD channels have anything near resembling this.Comment

Different cameras give you different PQ. That might be some of it. If you will notice, ESPN is the same way. For some reason, sometimes the Sunday Night games are not always on in HD, same for Nascar races. I wondered if that was my local station or what, everything else on NBC comes through in HD all the time(when applicable). The station is broadcasting in HD, but their feed seems to be wrong or something. It's happenned with 2 Sunday Night games this year. Not so much TV related, but HD. Anybody have issues with NBC HD? What TV do you own and what is the contrast ratio and refresh rate?I bought the 37" top of the line Aquos LCD for my parents and they absolutely love it. I'm still at home, so watching it I don't see any blurred images at all versus what my buddies have to deal with on their same sized LCDs from Samsung and Phillips. The colors are incredible, pictures are very crisp, and the contrast has some pretty advanced grey/black tones. So far, not a single thing has gone wrong with it and we've had it since last Christmas. If you're interested in this technology and want something in that size, I'd definitely recommend it. I also here the 45" with 1080p is great as well, it was just too much of a price jump for as at that point.
BK, what Aquos do you have?
I've heard Sharp is top of the line but I've also read that Samsung LCDs have become one of the best (if not the best) in picture quality.Comment
