Yer a Wizard 'Arry!Originally posted by BGarrett7According to Rotten Tomatoes, Potter is still better.
Suck it, Kong.
Harry Potter, the new one, was pretty damn good, so I'm not surprised, although I highly doubt this movie is as bad as some of you have made it out to seem.Comment

Re: King Kong
I really enjoyed King Kong.
I'll admit, I was fidgeting a bit during the opening hour, which is never a good sign. But I can honestly say there wasn't a scene in the movie I didn't like once they got to Skull Island.Comment

Re: King Kong
That's about how I felt. The first hour really started to get old to me, maybe they could have done that in 20-30 minutes. Once Kong got the girl it was great.Originally posted by BaldEaglePrideI really enjoyed King Kong.

Re: King Kong
I enjoyed the movie a lot, and i thought those scenes with kong and the girl were good to build up kongs character. they did a good job, since there were so many chicks crying around me. hahaha i know its funny but its shows how well everyone in the movie had great chemistry. Definitley not kiddie like some poster was trying to describe before even seeing it.Comment

Re: King Kong
well Kong pulled in over 50 million this weekend, setting it about 66 million for the first half week. It's already made 80 million overseas, so this does look like it will make it into the black, and avoid bust status.http://flotn.blogspot.com

Re: King Kong
Went to see it today, I enjoyed it for the most part. A bit on the lengthy side, I have a hard time sitting in those theater chairs for such a long time. The special effects were, of course, off the chain. How I wish, how I wish you were here. We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl year after year. Running over the same old ground. What have we found? The same old fears. Wish you were here.Comment

Re: King Kong
I felt the exact opposite. The first two hours were great(up until about the point right after Kongs fights those T-Rex's), but after that the whole thing just fell apart IMO. Everything just became SO hookie after that. I mean, having the captain of the boat save them the first time out of nowhere was one thing, but having that Baxter actor guy do a complete and total 180 and decide to come back for them(and, of course, arrive just in time) was stomach-churning bad. The only point of that whole scene was to make sure it was known that Jack Black's camera was broken to give him motivation to try to capture Kong. They could have done without the bugs and stuff, it was a little over the top(which is a hard thing to do in a movie about a giant ape).Originally posted by aukevinThat's about how I felt. Then other stuff after that (the bat-airplane, the NYC streers going from a complete mess to being completely silent once Watts shows up, Watts putting herself in the line of gunfire for an ape, ect) just took the movie downhill quickly IMO. They did a nice job fleshing out the charatcers early, building the relationship between Kong and Watts, but after that they let it all fall apart in a series of one unbelievable thign after another.
And I know, the whole movie is unbelievable because it has dinosaurs and King Kong. But until the point I mentioned, everything the humans had done seemed believable, once they started making the human characters as fake as the CGI dinosaurs, they lost me.
Still, not a bad movie. Most directors would have turned this into a complete and total mess, it is impressive that this didn't turn out to be Godzilla-bad.Comment
