How are you liking the Jeff Buckley, Queens of the Stone Age and Radiohead albums?

Since you mention BMG, there's a website similar to BMG, except its a flat-rate where they send you a CD per month for $6 (that includes S&H). Pretty good deal.

I've been listening to Buckley's Grace for awhile on Yahoo Music. Buckley's voice is so amazing. If only he could have had more material.

As for QOTSA, I've only listened to SFTD once, and it was while doing a research paper, so I can't give an honest opinion. I love Lullabies to Paralyze, and I know most QOTSA fans say this is a better album than that, so I'm looking forward to listening to it. I'll probably get a chance tonight at work.

As for Radiohead, I had this album downloaded on my old PC, so I've heard it before. I always liked it, moreso than OK Computer, which I also have.

What website are you talking about? I'm basically only milking BMG for their 12 CDs for the price of one. I have no interest in paying $20 a CD after this, lol.

Not the biggest selection (similar to BMG), but it works for me.

Do you have Chris Cornell's "Euphoria Morning?" I haven't heard very many tracks by Jeff Buckley, but I've always known "Euphoria Morning" is essentially Chris' tribute to Jeff. Just wondering if the styles/mood is similar.

Songs for the Deaf is a great album, its my favorite Queens of the Stone Age album with Rated R being a very close second. Lullabies is a great album, but there's not enough diversity amongst the tracks to really break the album up I guess. Definitely pick up Rated R next. Great album.

I've read some pretty terrible reviews for the movie. But it seems sort of like one those films that a few critics panned, and the rest jumped on the bus.

I'll give it a rent when it comes to OnDemand. Thanks for the heads up.

That site isn't bad, I'll probably sign up after I get my last few CDs from BMG. Like you said, the selection isn't great, but there's quite a few CDs they have that I think are worth $6.

As for the Euphoria Morning-Buckley comparison, they're similar in some ways. Two great vocalists showcasing their styles. The mood of the songs are similar. Euphoria Morning has more rock influences than Grace, whereas Grace is slower and more stripped down, IMO(don't get me wrong though, there's at least three songs on Grace which are fast-paced).

They're both great albums. Personally, I prefer Grace. Buckley is one of very, very, very, very few vocalists that I think I would rather listen to than Cornell.

They are owned by BMG, so it is pretty much the same selection, without some of the limited availability albums BMG has(The Beatles for example). It is a nice site, it is good to get one album shipped to you every month for $6. Not a good place to get anything new from, but a good way to catch up on some older albums at a crazy price.

Ghostface Killah Fishscale...I bought this CD this morning after work for 6.99 at Best Buy. I have no idea why it sold for so less, whether it was Def Jam or Best Buy, but Im very satisfied with my purchase...so much better than the advance I had. The best songs I hadn't heard are "Dogs of War" and "Underwater".

Its a combination of both. Def Jam gets the publicity of having the album prominently displayed in their weekly circular ads as well as having the album placed on end racks and in the front of the store. Best Buy gets the albums at a cheaper price. I love those deals, heck, I still love the $9.99 for new cds deal, that only started about 3 years ago.

                  Speaking of which...

Picked up Yeah Yeah Yeahs "Show Your Bones" which came out today.

Just got home with the new Yeah Yeah Yeahs album "Show Your Bones." I'm ripping as I type and I'll post impressions in about an hour.

I listened to Dave Barnes' Chasing Mississippi album for the first time last night, and really liked it. It's my first exposure to Barnes, but I've been really digging the work from the likes of Matt Wertz, Mat Kearney, et al even more so than usual lately, so it was a natural progression. Fits very well into the same vein of artists like David Ryan Harris, Josh Kelley, Matt Nathanson, Marc Broussard, and Michael Tolcher perfectly.

Never even heard of him before. What kind of music is it?

I've been looking for some new albums to get. I am going to Best Buy tomorrow and picking up the new Ghostface Killah, TI and maybe the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. I wasn't as high on their first release as other people were.

Has anyone heard the My Chemical Romance live album? If so, any thoughts?

Acoustic-based rock. You know, the type that if you see them perform live, it's just them and a guitar, but on the album they beef it up a bit by having a backing band. Same goes for all those I mentioned along with him.
