We watched American History X in history class...great movie, except for the prison rape.

Also, I don't know how overlooked it is in the States, but virtually no one up here has seen Dr. Strangelove, which is a great movie.

Peter Sellers was amazing in that movie. Sadly he didn't win an Academy Award for it tho.

My mom said that our car ended up being in a shot of Bicentennial Man when they were outside of Oracle (those Oracle scenes were shot 5 miles from where I live).

Recent movies that really impressed me cause when I initially saw them I was not expecting such a great time movie experience.

- Gattaca
- Hero - is so good I was just shocked how good this movie is.
- Chronicles of Riddick - totally suprised how fun and enteraining this movie was, totally suprised me
- Wild Things - not really overlooked but also pleasantly surprised how good it was.
- Groundhog Day

House of Flying Daggers- I'm sure it got some critical acclaim but I never hear people talk about it like they do Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

And I agree with the guy who said hero. I don't like Jet Li at all and I thought that the movie would be really crappy but it was great and the sets were beautiful.

Lord of War- The movie did horrible in the box office, yet I watched it last week and it was amazing.

The epitome of this topic is the movie The Boondock Saints.

its an awsome movie but something that does not make it to the theatres is always gonna be overlooked. most movies that go straight to video are horrible.
