Re: fans of underground rap?
The 2007 FOUR Awards
Unofficial Release of the Year
"I Miss 1994" - Prince Ali
Don't confuse this Prince Ali with the one from the Bay. Well, if you listen to each artist once, you will KNOW the difference, and that is that Prince Ali, the one from Toronto, is light years beyond the one from the Bay. With the added help from producer Incise who is coasting side-by-side with P.A. as the next best young duo who just missed out on winning co-rookies of the year. There is not much info going around about these two, but they've enlisted the likes of Craig G., a known battle-rap master... Tragedy Khadafi, an underground legend... and Kev Brown, who can do both the rap and beat thing.
"Rap Author" with Craig G. was perhaps the most extraordinary song I've ever heard. The beat gives off a serious light but at the same time is pretty relaxing, especially with the way Prince Ali flawlessly flows over it. If it wasn't for a product of 9th Wonder again, this song would have taken the Song to Download for Unofficial Releases award. 77 plays speaks lengths. The bass level speaks deep. This song alone has me checking for new P.A. stuff all the time.
The other songs provide no real drop off. This is solid music at it's highest point. Wishful thinking: If only more artists would feed into the idea of dropping that definitive **** even if the Album release is getting pushed back by that pesky label. This mixtape my friends, was a free download from P.A.'s very own myspace. The saying goes that the best stuff is always free. Prince Ali makes me believe in it.
The Get Back playcount was pretty rediculous, but not much more rediculous than this one...
(I didn't have Material Possessions until October... the rest was with me in March)

Re: fans of underground rap?
Where do you guys go to find out what concerts are coming through your area? Its hard to do it with these underground artists. I usually look on their websites, but alot don't have a website, and for those that do, most of the info is out dated.Last edited by gta95; 01-26-2008, 03:22 AM.Eagles, 76ers, Phillies, Arsenal FC, Wildcats, Vols
