Lupe forgot the lyrics to ATCQ song at the honor show and then made all the excuses and said he never listened to the album and is not going to now or something like that. Some big ol' mess. I don't know really, but it's entertaining.

That's why... I don't know if I've expressed my dislike for Lupe anytime in this thread, and it may seem like I'm pulling this card now that he's done something stupid... but truthfully...

          I've never liked Lupe... and I don't mean as a person... I couldn't give a ****... I love Saigon... I love Royce... I don't like Lupe...

my friend was telling me that Median is a poor-man's Lupe... try the other way around.

Rooster's beat is perfect to. It sets the mood of the song perfect. Rooster is the best example of a beat and lyrics meshing together to make great music.

I'm with you and Nivek. It's unreal how good this stuff is.

On a side-note, the only thing I haven't liked from Atmosphere was "headshots" or something. That Album didn't really do it for me. You guys the same?

EDIT: Anyone else think this thread should get a sticky? It's gotta be one of the more popular threads out there.

                    Artist: Atmosphere
Mixtape: Sad Clown Bad Fall 10
                    Producers: Ant
                    Release Date: October 2007

Another entry from the Sad Clown Bad Fall Dub from Atmosphere has come out and it's your typical Ant beats and Slug lyrics that you've come to know and love (or express your inner-emo). I'm not sub-consciously hard-pressed to find my favorite rap cd's in Minnesota, but Minny doesn't operate below a certain quality line.

Minnesota has diappointed me a great deal this year with Brother Ali's overrated album and Atmosphere's lack of "real" albums. Basically, I've recieved less than expected, and even on these Sad Clown Bad ______ (insert current season) LP's I am not extremely pleased. All of that, however, speaks volumes for the state of Minnesota which is held in high-regard in the underground scene and is always expected to make dope to classic ish.

My main gripe is that I don't enjoy Ant's production as much as the next guy (Nivek ) but he DOES capture the essence of Slug, and you can really see that come into play on "The Rooster". I would definetely have to say check out this dub for sure. Don't let it pass.

Yeah nothing really stands out on headshots for me either. Is there a release date set for the album yet?

I'm fine with 5 songs here and there as opposed to 10 songs once a year. I'm not complaining. I'm a huge Atmosphere fan/obsessor and I think you put out a lot of negative in your comment but give them a higher grade than you want. I'm loving four of the five songs (not a fan of "Party Over Here") and I am so happy that Slug continues to flow the way he always has. Everything they come out with seems fresh to me and doesn't lose it's appeal unlike a lot of different artists. But as I've said, I'm biased and I admith this.

I guess my point is...you say Minny has disappointed you with Brother Ali and the Athmosphere LP's but you give this one a 85%, which is pretty good. I guess it's one of those reviews to me which give all the negatives but give a decent score. Maybe I'm just looking too much into the review.

Here's my quick review. Classic Atmosphere with fresh beats and a flawless story-telling by Slug. 4 of the 5 songs are legitimate and you will be listening to them for a long time if you're somewhat of an Atmosphere fan.

All I know is that if I had a rapper come out with an album and 80% of the tracks had a long-term listening value I would be ecstatic. With this album I am!

would it be possible for somebody to link me to sad clown, bad summer? I was never able to find it.

also, I'm really enjoying the Soulstice album, that's some good stuff.

You know, I read your post and I really thought I was probably being hard on Slug and Minny and I really didn't want to be because I do enjoy a little Atmosphere here and there, but then I re-read my review and I thought I was pretty fair, keeping on both negatives and positives...
