That's why everyone has opinions. I do like Minstrel Show better, but this is a very, very good album. Only song I don't really like is Two Step Blues (although others seem to love it)

I just don't like ordering online period really. Guess I will on this though since I couldn't find it in the store. If I would of known that (which I should have) I would of ordered a while back and already have it.

        Artist: Sharkey & C-Rayz Walz
        Album: Monster Maker
        Producers: Sharkey
        Release Date: July 31, 2007

Contrary to popular belief, this isn't a special album at all. Special as in something to offer... possessing pleasurable qualities... not special meaning slow or ********, or in this case ******** sounding. The first listen through you will love the funk and unconventional kookiness of both the emcee C-Rayz, and the producer Sharkey. Deep down however, you aren't going to be inclined to really play this cd any more than that. When you do decide to go back to it, you will realize how unspectacular this album really is. C-Rayz is nothing to write home about. Sharkey is just another reason why overseas production is still not up to snuff, and too often comes off as cockamamie and not hot. IGN gave it a 9.7 out of 10. Note to self... Don't read IGN reviews ever again.

I don't really like track 1 or 2... but after that the album plays thru nicely for me...

Pooh rocks the first verse of the album on track 1 (Sirens) but the rest of the tracks is nothing special to me... and Can't Win Without Losing is not really my cup of tea.

Guess I won't order from hiphopsite.com, didn;t know they were just digital like iTunes. I'll just buy the bonus track from there and order the cd from best buy or something.

Not sure if you're into instrumentals, but it's not bad to have for an additional couple dollars.

                  Artist: Cymarshall Law
Album: Hip Hop in the Flesh
Producers: Mr. Joeker; Broadway; K.O.N.; ID4Windz; Captin Planit; The Beatniks; Analogic; Mr. Fantastic Fox; Cymarshall Law; Axis
                  Release Date: May 2007

Cymarshall Law is bizarre. His flow is bizarre. His lyrics are bizarre. His whole rap approach is bizarre. Not many people will appreciate it at first and pass it off as a joke. Sometimes his rhyming ability comes into question when he eliminates word to word gaps and often sounds like he's talking in long run-on sentences that don't even subjectively make any sense. Most of the time he tells tales and is pretty gifted at it. Because of this inconsistency, he hardly is close to being a top-notch emcee in the underground, but he is easy to pick out and recognize, and he has some pretty legit production going for him. Having a style easily detectable seems to be a critical ingredient in achieving a steady fan-base that continues to buy subsequent albums. I'm interested in his upcoming projects if there are any.

                      XCell,

you definitely do yeoman's work with putting your reviews together. Most of the groups I haven't heard of, but definitely appreciate being able to hear and support underground artist. Many moons ago, it was me.

BTW, I know you could sneak in a review of Smith and Wessun, "The Album". I cop'd it yesterday with the LB's jawnt off hiphopsite.com.

I've been listening to some albums and the beats are awful. Death Is Certain only had a few good beats and his mixtapes have been pretty terrible. I hope his new album has better beats but he needs to get somebody to start picking beats for him.

I'll have to hear the beats first, I wouldn't be surprised if he picked the ****tiest beats they could come up with. He's one of my favorite rappers but his ear sucks. I'm glad to see 9th on there though.
