The 7th might work. For some reason I thought they were going to Carborro the same night the Cavs and Bobcats play. Little Brother Friday night then LeBron Saturday night, sounds like an awesome weekend.
My tickets are really good too!Comment

Re: fans of underground rap?
Artist: Smif 'N' Wessun
Album: The Album
Producers: Collen and Webb; Ken Ring; Rune Rotter; Tommy Tee; Ken BB; Soul Theory
Release Date: October 19, 2007
I have to admit that I didn't recognize any of the names in the production credits except for Rune Rotter who has done stuff for the BCC in the past like 2006's runner up for Album of the Year, "The Last Stand". Still, this album made me experience some of the best beats I've ever heard before. It's about time that Smif 'N' Wessun picks some quality production to anchor their album.
The Cocoa B's are still on their mafioso rap and their angles are well-captured by the instrumentals. The hooks are good on nearly every track. The lyrics on "See the Light" are some of the best I've heard from Tek 'n' Steele. There isn't any special concept to this album other than Smif 'N' Wessun just being themselves and following the Boot Camp Clik mold by releasing an album just like everyone else in it.
The good songs keep coming as you go through. Around the end, a wall appears to be struck with the beats and you get three really disatisfying songs but the ten tracks on the album that I behold as good are not only good, but stunning. One of the best albums (if not THE best album) of 2007 for sure.

Re: fans of underground rap?
As I mentioned from my previous post, I bought this along with LB and have been bumpin' the hell out of it! Here's the thing alot of young acts don't get, they glorify the lifestyle without mentioning the otherside (jail, lost friends, and wasted time & potential). Smif and Wessun give you the full picture without the onesided glorification."I've Altered The Deal..."Comment

Re: fans of underground rap?
Yeah you are. You aren't giving it a fair shake and that's what almost happened after my first listen. This album reminds me of all the things I like about Boot Camp Clik. Simplistic, hardcore, and that Bouncy Brooklyn sound. Smif 'N' Wessun (Cocoa Brovaz) has been around a good deal and are never less than mediocre. They pack heat in their raps and it doesn't seem like that's your cup of tea.
You haven't liked any album as of late though. I really have no idea whatsup. On the flip side, IMO, this 2nd half of 2007 has been lights-out... totally eclipsing what the first half has done.SAN ANTONIO SPURSComment
