I root against the Texans only when they play the Cowboys (I was born and raised in Dallas, so the Cowboys were, and still are, my "first love").

Re: Do you root against hometown teams?
I dont understand why you would root "against" a team from your home town? Im a miami dolphins fan who lives in indiana, have been since late 70s, but thats because there was no nfl team here then. Everyone gets on me becuase the colts arent my favorite team (still love them though becuase they are from indiana, but dont want them to beat the dolphins or anything), but am i supposed to drop my favorite team becuase my city finally got a franchise? no.
Anywho, cheer for your homteam, it cant do any harm

LMAO at the people who say they root against their hometown teams. I'm sure you guys are the same people that if those teams won a Super Bowl, Stanley Cup, World Series or NBA championship, you'd be at the parade cheering you're *** off.Comment

I really couldn't care less. The parade when right by my office building at the time and still hated the whole thing as a Cubs fan.PSN: JISTIC_OS

Re: Do you root against hometown teams?
I can't seem to understand anyone who grew up in a city with major sports teams that can root against them. I don't live in Detroit right now, but I support every pro team like it's my life, even the sorry Lions and Tigers. I don't support Univ. of Michigan, because I grew up a Michigan State fan. But that's different!
And of course, I will die before I ever root for my Hokies to lose in any sport!
Thanks,

I have a vengence against the RedWings matched only by my hate for the Wolverines, if I ever celebrated a RedWing championship I would cut off my manhood, provided I don't have a child who is playing for them.Originally posted by VinceLMAO at the people who say they root against their hometown teams. You will never see me attending a parade if the Bills ever won a superbowl. The only way I support the Bills is by buying a ticket every year when Miami comes to town.Cripe I even have my two daughters brainwashed against the bills.Comment

Congrats on the speculation, but WRONG!!!!!!! I have never owned anything Panthers, or Hornets, and wouldn't be going out and buying that crap if they won. Because I can't stand the Panthers. If my Chiefs don't win a SB doesn't mean I'm gonna go all out and root for someone else. I really don't give a damn if the Panthers ever win a SB. I won't be rooting for them to win, nor would I be happy and giddy if they did.President of the Devils Den

Re: Do you root against hometown teams?
Sorry, but you are way off base on this one. I would still root against the Dodgers and Bruins even if a member of my family(who I loved) played for them. I might, MIGHT do if for cash-money if the price was right, and even then it would be like I was a prostitute faking an orgasm.Originally posted by VinceLMAO at the people who say they root against their hometown teams. Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

I'm not talking about rooting for them if they won a championship. I'm saying that some of you would attend the parade and celebration parties.
I can't believe ALL of you hate your hometown teams that much.Comment

I wouldn't be near the parade. It's not my team that I root for. I was a Chief fan before the Panthers, and a Chief fan after the Panthers. Because of the Panthers blacking out games I have to shell out almost 100 bucks a year to watch Chief games. That is one of the huge reasons I hate the Panthers.President of the Devils Den
