Re: Comic Book Fans....
Axis has me wanting to read all the ancillary books other than the main book so that's an accomplishment. I haven't dove into this week's comics yet but there's lots of reading on the Marvel side what with Axis material and the Death of Wolverine stuff. I agree with JBH3 though, Marvel is really running the risk of burnout/turnoff for their fanbase with all these events going on. Hell right now we've got that whole Avengers time running out thing, Axis, Death of Wolverine, and the Spider-Verse thing. All this leading up to a year long Secret War event AND a new Civil War!!
Slow your roll a little Marvel! They really need to allow people to catch their breath here or people are just going to get fed up.
Luckily DC isn't going hog wild with Event Overload.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Pretty much sums me up....Problem is I don't even think some of these events have been all that eventful.
Takela for instance Original Sin, The Watcher is dead....ok....he didn't do anything but watch anyways. It was like all it did was find a way for Marvel to write Bucky into a different role and bring in a new Thor character, albeit stupidly. Like a chump I bought almost every tie-in and now I am jaded because of it.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

Re: Comic Book Fans....
I went into OS with low expectations... the idea of a murder mystery I really don't care for. Then it exceeded them, the first couple issues were really intetesting.
Then Fury showed up and it made me regret everything, lol.
My biggest gripe with Marvel during that period... during this event a celestial executioner about half the size of the moon hovered above the earth threatening to destroy it... but that only mattered in Uncanny Avengers for some reason.Comment

Re: Comic Book Fans....
So The Death of Wolverine story....Hard to say how I really feel about the story itself. It was well drawn...but...
I think there was not enough dialogue and an obscure cast of characters... such as Viper, Lady Deathstrike (who I thought was dead), and Lord Ogun....
Had I not read Barry Windsor-Smith's MCP Weapon X story earlier this year, I would've had no idea who Abraham Cornelius was. At first I thought he looked like Dr. Butler from the Deadpool: The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly story arc.
I think Soule should've done more to inform the reader on a lot of the continuity from the microverse virus that took Logan's healing factor to the reappearance of Dr. Cornelius, or at least had an editor's note about it...
The Wolvie-being-solo ending is fitting since Logan is such a loner anyways, but I wanted to see a rogue's gallery have their way with him. He died too dignified for a mutant who has been in existence for how long? And killed how many?
I love the character, always will, but I don't want an adamantium statue left of him for those who loved him to pay tribute to. While it leaves the door cracked for an inevitable return, I was hoping for a visceral blaze of glory, something to harken back to Wolverine and not Logan. To me a "The Death of Wolverine" needs to focus on the Wolverine side and not the "Logan" side.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

Re: Comic Book Fans....
Oh you are completely right...I read all of those months of lead in and nothing really compared to the actual "Killable" arc, it was pretty much downhill from that arc in terms of story. The "Death Of..." was a major wimper indeed...Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

But I really think that the point was for him to go down as Logan and not Wolverine. It showed the man being selfless, instead of the usual killing machine. We all wanted and expected him to go out in a blaze of glory, but this was an alright surprise.St. Louis Cardinals | Milwaukee Bucks | Los Angeles Rams
