To be fair, writers as a whole have been ignoring his killing and martial arts 'prowess' for years now. Not surprised it went down the way it did.

Almost caught up on my Batman Eternal books. I let those stack from like issue 6-27, but have been reading about 3 or 4 issues a day over the last week. I am to issue #22 now, and things have gotten very interesting.

I love all the different stories/teams in play for this book. I am also loving the Ray Fawkes penciled issues.

        Thoughts from those reading this?

I think Batman Eternal has been very good with the exception of the Deacon Blackfire subplot though the end of the last issue has made it far more interesting. The writing has been surprisingly very good for one of those weekly comic book series. The art to me, has been anywhere from acceptable to excellent. Again, that's something that you have to take with these weekly book things.

Otherwise, this has been a very good event. I read the newest Catwoman issue which is a spoiler to how Eternal ends and I must say I really like her new status quo but I don't know how the general superhero comic book fan would take to it.

huh. Looks like all these Marvel teasers aren't actually happening (exceot secret wars?). They're building hype towards SOME event. Don't know what.

Yeah, as of the first few it clearly was something else. They're up to 11 or so 'Summer 2015' teasers now.

We should've known. I think Marvel did something similar leading up to last summer or the summer before.

Wow, DC is going to do it's own version of Secret Wars before Marvel Does it over the summer?

"For 2015's annual "big event,'' DC Comics is mashing up stories and characters from 80 years of comic-book history while also introducing a big bad villain.

The company is putting its line of superhero comic books on hiatus for two months for Convergence, a nine-week miniseries kicking off with a zero issue April 1. The story line will spill into 40 two-part miniseries in April and May featuring a variety of writers and artists examining the worlds of the DC Universe over the decades, as well as the heroes and villains contained within.

"It captures the full essence and scope of DC's incredible history and storytelling," says co-publisher Dan DiDio.

"There is a story and a character for every generation of DC Comics fan."

Convergence spins out of the April 1 finales of the Earth 2: World's End and The New 52: Futures End weekly series. The alien supervillain Brainiac has trapped cities from various timelines and planets that have ended, brought them in domes to a planet outside of time and space, and is now opening them for a great experiment to see what happens when all these folks meet."

Anyone pick up the new Deathlok reboot?
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

Yeah I think that's the more apt comparison rather than Secret Wars...So they're going to put their entire line on hiatus for 2 months?! That's a pretty bold move there. The concept of this big event is right up my geeky alley though so i'll definitely be following this.

I just hope this doesn't lead to yet ANOTHER wiping of history from DC.

In other (old) comic book stuff...This morning i tried reading the original Longshot miniseries from 1985-6. My goodness, Ann Nocenti was just as horrible a writer then as she is now. It doesn't help that Longshot was a character that had a completely clean slate (he had amnesia) and was dropped into various situations. The miniseries was Nocenti going hog wild on political commentary and such with the dialogue and situations being completely batcrap insane/stupid.

I gave up after reading 3 issues then read the blog post about it from the Gentleman of Leisure blog (it's my supplemental reading material as I trudge through the entire X-men catalogue)

Started up on the Death of Wolverine: The Weapon X Program. Not a bad read. Also read the Life After Logan one shot. Gotta pick up the next issue of Logan Legacy and the Deadpool & Cap DoW one shot.

It's not a whole lot. The DoW was 4 issues, legacy is 7, weapon x is 5, then just a couple one issue tie ins here and there.
