Re: The Da Vinci Code, Movie
I'm excited to see it, but I'll wait for video. I'm one of probably about three people in the country who never read the book, so I'm really looking forward to seeing what all the fuss is about.
Hopefully, great cast + great story = great movie. It doesn't always work out that way though.Helen: Everyone's special, Dash.

I've heard the book was amazing so i will read it after the movie.
Plus, the movie has the Tom Hanks factor for me.Comment

Angels and Demons was a better book, for those who want to read, but don't want to spoil the movie.
yeah i agree, i hope they make that into an movie as well. I wonder if its going to be more difficult since its made in the vatican unless they make a whole new world replicating it.Comment

Re: The Da Vinci Code, Movie
Btw, without this conversation plunging off the cliff....has anyone seen all the people protesting the release of this movie? People are going crazynuts around the world over the movie's premiere at Cannes. Were people this offended when the book was released? I sure don't remember it happening to this degree, but that might be because the book didn't have the worldwide popularity and press that the movie does.
I'm not familiar with the story, but I know basics. Isn't it supposed to be fiction? I mean, obviously it's historically researched enough to be factually plausible for the sake of being a good story, but it's not meant to be exhaustively researched uncovering of the truth, is it?
Being offended by this movie would kind of be like being offended by the depiction of the Holy Grail in the last Indiana Jones movie....Helen: Everyone's special, Dash.

The best part is, all the protests are doing is giving the movie free publicity and increasing interest in it.Helen: Everyone's special, Dash.

Re: The Da Vinci Code, Movie
I never read the book either, probably why I don't really care to see the movie. If a buddy of mine wants to see the movie, I'll go see it, but otherwise I'll wait for video.

I'm really looking forward to the movie, to see a lot of the book come alive, especially the paintings, etc. There's a visual aspect that will actually make the movie good side by side with the book.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: The Da Vinci Code, Movie
Originally posted by mgobluei highly disagree with you here, book's are pretty much always better than the movie. I am a big reader though, grew up with my parents encouraging that from a young age, so that helped me get into it. I know it's not for everyone, but reading for pleasure can really be enjoyable if you give it a chance.Comment
