I can't wait for this movie. Simple as that. Ledger is one of my favorite actors, so I'm excited about how he's going to portray the Joker.

Re: Batman 2 Discussion
yeah, if I was gonna give someone a comic to learn about the Joker, Moore's "The Killing Joke" and Brubaker's "Batman: The Man Who Laughs" would be it.Hm. Good interview, although it was short. Interesting to see they gave Heath "The Killing Joke" as, I suppose, his background information. Pretty cool too with the 3D imaging of Heath's face. I guess that makes it easier on him when they're testing the makeup and look of the Joker.

Re: Batman 2 Discussion
Now that Nolan has more artistic freedom because of the success of Begins look for an even darker movie than the 1st. This one will definately cater to the adults.

Re: Batman 2 Discussion
You can't make it TOO dark. You run the risk of alienating younger film goers. We all know the synergy between WB and DC. The success of the movie will be tied into the comics in some shape or another. If you make it too dark they'll have to put the comic adaptation on the vertigo line....Actually that'd be kinda neat.
Still, I don't want to see Bats brooding TOO much or even bordering on the psychotic. We get that a bit too much over the years in the comic books.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Batman 2 Discussion
I think the 3rd one...which is really supposed to focus on the Joker/Batman could be very dark.
I think this one should certainly be darker than the first - see the choice of titles with "The Dark Knight" - but, I agree, you can't make it TOO dark....yet.Comment

Re: Batman 2 Discussion
Indeed, I'd support a really dark, bordering on R rated (or whatever the highest rating will be by then they're changing the rating system) film that focuses on Batman/Joker.
That's the only way to truly cap it off and give the series a sense of finality or at least a sense of conclusion to the story arc if WB tries to milk the franchise more by looking at a new director and/or actor.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Batman 2 Discussion
Apparently the major villains in 3 are going to be Two-Face and the Joker and if they set up the story right, Two-Face could actually be a really deep character.

Re: Batman 2 Discussion
The Joker, I believe. Nolan has said that it will be similar to the first one in the sense that there isn't one true major villain.
