I think the Batman voice is as annoying as the next person, but you do have to understand that the purpose of the voice is not to be cool or bad-***... it's to disguise Bruce Wayne. Nothing more.

It actually is a little more than that. Batman is not playing with a full deck. He has a lot of issues.

Sweet swetness I am now property of that movie. Probably the best I've ever seen, matching unreachable hype. In all seriousness, Ledger put on the best performance I've ever seen as the Joker. Wow.

My two complaints....

Some of the stunts/gadgets used my Batman were slightly too much for a Nolan Batman film.

And I also think there was a pretty unrealistic conclusion to the boats scene at the end, and that the last hour, despite being the most amazing hour of any film ever, seemed a little overwhelming in terms of things going on at once.

My foremost complaint as well.

And I also think there was a pretty unrealistic conclusion to the boats scene at the end, and that the last hour, despite being the most amazing hour of any film ever, seemed a little overwhelming in terms of things going on at once.

Well, the more I thought about it (though they didn't spell it out for us), recall that the Joker switched addresses and tricked Batman to rescue Dent instead of Rachel. What if he did the same with the boats, and when they pushed the button, they blew themselves up instead? Perhaps this was something they [indirectly] considered while on the boat. They didn't want to leave things to chance. Like Dent, they make their own luck.

Deebo was just doing the right thing, knowing that they shouldn't blow up the others when they're a bunch of bad dudes. The other group just didn't have anyone who could consciously activate the detonator. If Deebo hadn't thrown out the detonator, I think another con would have used it when the time was running out.

No, I understand that that's how it was portrayed on-screen (and that's probably how it was intended), but I'm pointing out other possibilities for the sake of realism, because ILLCHILL claimed that it was just in all a pretty unrealistic conclusion to that scene. I think differently, though. I know I couldn't do it.

I think it did $18 million alone in midnight showings, and that's not including the 3:00 AM and 6:00 AM showings.

And I'll be honest, when Batman is driving on the batcycle at the very end with the narration going (great words being said there btw) I started to get a little choked up. Sort of embarrassing, but it was just so epic I didn't want it to be over.

You're not alone in that respect. The closing last few words were my favorite part of the movie and tied the movie together.

This was a great, great movie and very well written.

I have a friend who refused to go see this movie with me today, opting to see it at home on DVD instead. He's a Tim Burton fan who thinks Nolan's work isn't "comic-booky" enough. I never saw any of the previous Batman movies (with the exception of Batman Begins), so I have nothing to compare these to right now.

If this movie had been "Vigilante Man vs. Crazy Man" with no iconic characters, it would still be one of the best movies I've ever seen.

Heath Ledger's performance was truly exceptional.

Dustin Hoffman won an oscar for Tootsie and earned that one. There was a scene where he was walking down the sidewalk as a woman and had to pull his dress out of his behind because it was hiking up on him - it was funny and nailed his role perfectly.

I liken this to Heath Ledger's scene when he walked out of the hospital before blowing it up. It was the way he walked, and the way he had to keep pressing the detonator to set off the last charge. This is also in the funny part when he first talks to Dent in the hospital when he's dressed as a nurse. Great acting.

This movie was excellent.

3 AM and 6 AM showings are just... weird...

I couldn't imagine going to see a movie at those hours.

Saw it a second time, this time in IMAX, and I ams till blown away.

Ledger is absolutely ridiculous.

Oh, and Maggie is terrible. Don't even know if I could put her above Holmes and I thought Holmes was pretty bad. Basically...Rachel just sucks as a character in both movies, in my opinion.
